A few of us are off to Memphis this coming weekend. You may notice a lack of officers online. Don't panic. We were not kidnapped or anything. But if we're gone more than a week, please send help.
Hope everyone enjoys Easter weekend with your families or whatever else you end up doing.
If there is anything urgent, you can send me a PM. My BlackBerry is always on!

I MADE IT BACK! I waited until Eules fell asleep and then I sawed through the ropes with a well-hidden nail file.

IT IS TRUE that they have escaped, but
i secretly slipped a slow-acting poison into everyone's drinks, as those who see my true form cannot be permitted to live ;x

That explains a lot. And I thought it was the airport BBQ I inhaled before I got on my flight...

It was definitely an awesome time. Great to finally meet some of you in person. Most of you were nothing like I was expecting. :D
I keep forgetting to tell you guys this story about customs on the way back into Canada. I had a young pretty customs agent who asked all the right/wrong questions:
Her: So where were you?
Me: Memphis
Her: What were you doing in Memphis?
Me: Visiting with some friends.
Her: How did you meet these friends?
Me: Um... in an online game.
She then looked up at me with a look of shock but smiling just the same.
Her: Really?
Me: Yes.
Her: Which game?
Me: World of Warcraft.
Even more shock on her face now... and still smiling.
Her: Are you serious?
Me: Yes.
Her: Do you play the game?
Me: Yes.
Her: But do you play the game all the time?
Me: Yes. Well, not all the time. But yes.
Her: I have a character named after me.
Me: Oh ya?
Her: Yes. My ex-boyfriend made it.
Me: Oh. I'm sorry.
Her: Ya, that's why we broke up. He wouldn't stop playing the game. And even now we are still friends and when I call him he always has to go because he is playing.
Me: Oh. I'm sorry. But you did ask...
Luckily, she was smiling and in good humour about the whole thing. And she didn't tag me to get searched or anything. PHEW!

I HATE having to explain to the ladies at Curves why I am going on these trips...

The easiest way to blow that off is to tell them that you met these people 'in college.' You can admit to having done ANYTHING in college, and no one will bat an eye.

"I met them in my cooking class. Which is in no way a euphimism for 'super-secret terrorist cell.'"
How about, I don't know, the truth? I met them playing an online roleplaying game that we all enjoy. We get along so well that we like to meet in person from time to time. It's none of their stuck up self's damn business why you're meeting people. If they do have a problem tell them, "You don't know me! I do what I want!"

"I met them at the local S&M club." You have no idea how many follow-up questions that prevents.

So I booked my flight from Friday to Monday on the assumption that Memorial Day would be a 4-day weekend (like it is ALL OVER THE ARMY). I was wrong. Apparently I have class that friday and now I have to send a written request, complete with explanation, why I will miss a full day of class to be approved by the Colonel in charge of the whole school. There is a girl in a similar situation who is planning HER OWN WEDDING and they were debating whether that was a valid excuse or not, so I don't know how well 'flying to Canada to meet my video game friends' is going to go over. Ugh... I'll let you know if my plans change.
