Is anyone planning on playing Age of Conan? The servers open up for those who have preordered on the 17th, and for everyone else on the 20th. If anyone else is planning on playing I would like the first one in to post their server, so we can organize. I for one cannot wait to start cleaving off heads!

I tried playing in the beta but so far I've been unable to log in, not sure why.. their system is kinda odd.

Man, I have tried every contest for beta but Fileplanet. I didn't want to pay for fileplanet. I bet you got your beta key from Fileplanet, right?

Nope, from them. Put my beta app in loong ago and entered a couple of the contests.
I think I got in from a contest they did about writing a Conan-esque quote and posting it on the forums.

Well, after the 19 hour dowwnload I will be on as either Gallus, Nerius, or Pragus. This is the closed beta (no lvl cap!!!), so I am not sure how many servers there are. Will let you know which one I am on when I know.

Since the female characters have fully rendered breasts, I see Killiane runnin around topless for the first 4-5 hours! Just don't make them too big to swing a sword. :P

It's hard to say for sure, brown. I'm playing a caster and it's a lot like EQ2 if you have played it.
There is no auto attack, it's all interactive and reactive.

Thats all well and good, BUT, How is the game itself. Ive heard good and bad....
I like it alot. I have only had a few bugs. I put on a shirt and my arms dissappeared. That was a little wild. The combat is easy to get used to, and the finishing moves are brutal.

Well, that sucked. AoC no likey my laptop. Game crashes everytime I launch it. I don't even get a splash screen. I'll keep trying as they add patches.

yeah I can't run it in full screen for some reason, have to use windowed mode to get it to work.

I am playing a necro named Pragus on closedbeta 1. Yesterdays patch resolved alot of performance issues.

AHHHH problemo!
i got it installed, but when i login and load up the patching screen, it sits on "Downloading patch information..." for several minutes before returning with something along the lines of "Cant connect to patching server. Can not continue."
i have no firewall active on my router and i have windows firewall turned off. i really wanted to try this game out before buying it but time is running out!
anyone else encounter/know a way to work around this???

I'm sure if you searched their beta boards you could probably find the answer. LOTS of bitching and bug posting going on over there. I had an issue where I would just get a black screen. I could hear the game going, I could see my cursor but nothing else. I searched around and it ended up being the game's resolution...

yeah i found a solution for the first problem i encountered, which involved downloading and running some sort of patcher setup program that, for whatever reason, was not included in my download.
now it just keeps telling me i cant connect to the patching server.
and yea, every forum is full of a lot of ranting and not so many solutions.
