Where: Give me your suggestions, I would like to keep the budget at 20-25/person so we can include as many as possible.

Edit: Fox and I just booked our flights! :D

And Kae is in too.

How about Montana's for dinner? There seem to be a couple of locations in Ottawa. I am pretty sure it's within the $20-25 price range. But the website doesn't have prices on it so maybe someone in Ottawa could confirm.

it's not that expensive, the high end is 20$ but you can get stuff much cheaper than that, maybe average 15$ a plate.

Hey we can all share the mile high mud pie! :D

I would not, could not, in a box.
I could not, would not, with a fox. (ok I will with a Fox..)
I will not eat them with a mouse.
I will not eat them in a house.
I will not eat them here or there.
I will not eat them anywhere.
I do not eat green eggs and ham.
I do not like them, Sam-I-am.

Basically I am going to be the picky one, I will not go to Montana's, tried it 3 times, every time ended up with food posioning... I will look into a few suggestions and post them. If you have any by all means let me know :)

how does Moxies sound?

don't forget we should reserve ahead of time, any restaurant on a Saturday night is packed, especially for a large group

What about The Works? It's only got the best hamburgers in Ottawa! I think it fits with the $20-25 price tag.

Moxies is good too.

The works is SO GOOD!!

I am so jealous =)

I am halfway across the world, but I could recommend a fun place in the Glebe. I used to work at "Patty's Pub" for about a year and it is a fun place, fits your budget, and has a good social atmosphere (and 16 kinds of beer on tap) as long as they didn't renovate the place or close.
Anyway, that is my two cents, but The Works is delicious. I have never been to Moxie's.

Works does have a room for private parties so depending on the size of our group it sounds right up our alley if they have an opening.

Not near Downtown(or what passes for Downtown in Ottawa) for those who are looking for that, I know Jack and I are not, but others might.

Too bad about Montana's. I like their ribs there. DD mentioned Moxies which is also good. If folks want The Works, I would think the one located in the Glebe would be easier access for folks not so close to downtown.

While we're suggesting places, what about Local Hero's? They have good ribs and wings and the beer is wet. :D

I'm up for anything. In fact, all those places sound yummy! We may have to roll on this one to see who wins. ;)

Hey Char,

I'm interested in going :) I've been canceling our lunch dates a lot lately and I want to make up for it. (Hoping you'll forgive me). I'll check with Len as well.

Are girlfriends invited too, or is it for VSers only?

Edit: Anywhere that serves Hamburgers or Nachos & Beer is fine by me :)

Edit 2: Len is working that night. I'll be going.

suggestion: maybe make a poll with the choices and we can vote on the restaurant?

I know I suggested Moxies but the Works is looking better and better to me, (Twistle's been telling me about it..)

Heya, Maub and I say the Works is fine with us, Moxies from what I hear can get quite expensive.

Garg, Could we hop in with you? Otherwise it's a long expensive cab ride for us to the west end. BTW there is a Works about 3 blocks from us and we are just east of "downtown" near Montreal and St. Laurent. a large party though may fill the whole restaurant up for the evening...lol.

Maub and I go to Montana's all the time, never had issues, maybe it is the location you went to? which one did you visit? I know my mother recently went to a Swiss Chalet that served her the most disgusting wrap that had to have been 3 days old at least and then we went to a different location and their exact same wrap was fresh and tasty. Sometimes it is just the management.

Recently went to a Heart and Crowne pub for a work "do" and the food was horrid, the salads looked like they took them out of another restaurant's trash and the hamberger buns were stale as rocks. I have been to other locations around Ottawa and found that the food was great...but since I wrote the manager a very detailed email about our visit and how horrid the food was, he gave each of us (10 people) a $20 gift certificate for a future visit...try making a fuss, and if you throw out words like "health inspector" and "food poisonning" they tend to get very generous.

just a thought.

so all that to say that Maub and I are in for the Works. (Provided my mother agrees to taking the mini-people for the weekend)
