Hey everybody,
I just wanted to take a second to talk about something that recently happened. As some of you know, there was a bit of drama that exploded surrounding me a few days ago. I won't go into the specifics of that because the last thing we need is more drama. However, I did want to talk about what led up to it and hopefully get us all on a better footing going forward from here.
One universal thing that really attracted us all to VS is the fact that we focus on enjoying the game and playing it the way we want. Those of you who know me have seen my style as "somewhat hardcore", those of you that don't know me will probably say it is more like "friggin' hardcore". I do take my role in the game seriously - especially regarding groups. This is particularly true in difficult content like Heroics or Raids. When I am leading a run, for example, and it struggles or we wipe, I take personal responsibility for that and my brain starts working on the "what went wrong" part of the equation - sometimes on overtime. Now, when I am with friends that I know really well, that is perfectly cool because their expectations match mine. However, when they don't I come off as "bossy" or "authoritarian" instead of "in control" or "authoritative".
VS is a really important group of people to me. Even though I am a bit hardcore in my playing, I really don't want to take the path others have taken by leaving for a guild full of hardcore people. I like the people here. I like what we can accomplish with our mixed set of goals and expectations from the game. I like our "casual awesomeness" and the last thing in the world I would ever want to do is change that. I also don't want anyone to feel that someone is bringing "asshole-ness" into the guild. We want that left to the other guilds. If you knew me personally, you would never think that about me regardless of how I might have come across in-game, so I need to work hard to make sure that doesn't come across in game. I am truely very sorry to those of you that I made feel this way.
After a lot of introspection and some soul-searching of my own I am going to implement some changes to how I approach things in this guild. For one, I will spend more time helping guild members do things they want to do. Even though that has always been my intent, I have been in a feverish act of getting Pregor to the point where he can help out as one of the main-tanks for the content we want to break. As I said, I am a fervent "preparer" and I really want to do my best to help us all get where we want to go. But I have focused on this too much. As I mentioned before, I don't want my play style impacting others negatively. I am confident I can fulfill my role and not let that happen, especially with help from my friends.
Obviously there will still be times where I may want to grab friends and be "fervent" or "fanatical" with them, but most often you will see me falling into line with the ideals of the group I am with rather than trying to make the group fall into mine. I plan to work hard to that end. One important thing about being a director is making sure everyone has fun, not just the director. You guys mean a lot to me and it is important we have fun "together".
Thanks for lending me your eyeballs. You can have them back now. :-)

Khros...whatever that first post and my response to it was....I have to say I respect and acknowledge your statement here.
I apologize if it seemed inflamatory but so did the first post. I hope our issues are resolved and we can move on to getting VS into the high level content and progression VS deserves to be in.
I like the guild and hope we can move on to working as one team respecting each other as such. You have my full support as does the guild do in getting us all on the same track to progressing and helping one another as we have done in the past.
I have enjoyed sharing the "battleground" with you in the past and hope we will again soon /salute

Better take the offer while you can Pil. I find it better to stay within arms reach of a hunter. Being cold and distant with Eulz is just gonna get an arrow stuck in you! Which will be a lot harder for her to do if you hug her.

Thanks for your note, Khros. It gives alot of insight into the person behind the drive, which is often *lost in the translation*. I appreciate and respect your candor as well as echo your VS sentiments. :)

Does it ever amaze you all just how easily anything serious around here devolves into a discussion involving leather?
No? Didn't think so because I fully expect every thread to do this. :P
Oh, and thank you, Khros, for having me and Xqualin along on those instance runs a few nights ago. It was fun, and we learned a new trick or two from you and Dalwin.

Well, obviously she teaches English... All the hot, latex wearing teachers teach latex.
Right, Eulz?
