Film blasted as 'accessible to those who don't even know what Pon Farr is'.

QUOTED FOR TRUTH.
Lately everyone is too cool for Super Cool. It's like, how'm I gonna find these videos and whatnot a month from now when I have time to watch them? I will not! Because they're not where they're supposed to go! And that is SAD.
It makes me a SAD PANDA.
Truly, it does.

"Gene Roddenberry was the hack that created the television series back in the 40's or something..."
Holy shit, LOL

Amanda and I saw the movie this morning. I liked it a lot. I don't know if I LOVED it yet... I'm going to have to see it again -- next Friday with the kids. And then maybe a third and thirteenth time.

Excellent movie! I loved it. I was trying to figure out where I'd seen Kirk before. But thanks to IMDb helping, I realized he was one of the Tremor Brothers in Smokin' Aces...

I've been seeing the Tremor Brother on the right in that interview (the one with the mohawk) in more and more things recently.
He's awesome in the new X-Men movie.

I finally got to see this last night (in digital projection, not that I noticed the difference), and absolutely loved it. Great casting (especially Simon Pegg). I think I will have to see it a few more times...
Love the movie. The creators (writers/producers/directors) did a great job of melding the original series characters with the new film's.
Kumar as Sulu FTW.

Actually that was Harold. :p
We saw it a second time this weekend. Loved it even more. I may have to go for a 3rd.

I'm not a Star Trek fan, and I enjoyed it. I think I need to go shower now or something. I feel dirty.

You don't need to shower, Abia.
The point of The Onion video is that for the first time since... well maybe Star Trek 4, this is a Star Trek movie second, and a fantastic science fiction action adventure first.
It transcends Star Trek while still embodying the essence of Star Trek.
Going to see it a second time Tuesday night.

I saw somewhere that Kumar actually got a job working on the White House staff somewhere.

Yep, that's why his character suddenly and unexpectedly committed suicide on "House."

The first time I enjoyed it. I more or less thought it was "just ok" ya know? Maybe I had on my critic goggles or something the first time but on the second viewing I found it really enjoyable.
I also think they did a fantastic casting job
I'll be looking forward to the next one

Off topic, but...was neither sudden nor unexpected. They'd been laying the groundwork for that all season.

See, that was the first episode of the season that I didn't watch. And I certainly didn't see it coming. So, I'm not sure what show you were watching... lol I will say, however that I gave up on house this year, not because of the sub-plots which I thought were pretty good, but because the individual patient stories were becoming more and more contrived:
1. Patient with strange illness is found and introduced to House in some convoluted way.
2. House and his staff disagree
3. House and Cuddy disagree
4. Patient nearly dies and spews blood out of at least two orifi that are not supposed to spew blood
5. After House nearly kills the patient no fewer than 4 times, he accidentally stumbles upon the answer due to some revolution that he has while having a conversation that is related to the sub-plot and not the patient...
6. House is called brilliant, and saves the patient, never mind that most of them will live on insulin or have a colostomy bag or worse for the rest of their life because house didn't have that faithful conversation before destroying said patients liver, kidney, lungs, heart, brain, or other internal organ du jour...
7. Roll credits while House looks longingly at something or someone...
Strangely, the very next ep is when Kumar suicides... and I said, "wtf?" So I'm glad someone was paying attention to the "things that led up to his demise" but no one else I asked about it did.
