I haven't really been into WoW recently, and I get the vibe that many others of you feel the same way.

Well, afflack and I got to talkin, discussing various options and City of Villains came onto the chopping block.

Expansion/upgrade to CoH, but you can be eeeeeevil! AND AND AND AND!!! You can have lairs and fortresses!

So right now I am updating my CoH client and tomorrow I will go out and see if I can get CoV. The gamestop.com site says it is $40.

I am gonna give it a shot, afflack probably will be too. Anyone else? Since we all (or at least most of us) have CoH, if you get CoV you have access to both heroes and villains, 12 character slots and all the nifty goodness that comes with CoV like the lairs and such.

do it.

Awww dooood....we played on AD quite a bit yesterday. Just want you guys to know that it's not that I'm sick of playing or anything--I've just been actually sick. Like for-reals sick. But I'm getting better so I do want to play some more.
Torrin, you suck. I need some cloak for some stupid yeti quest and I need you!

I'm very not keen on the CoV idea. It's a lot of the same repetitiveness that was CoH and from what I've read, you really don't feel evil.

I dont know man everything I read about it seems pretty freakin cool. The ratings for it all all very good and I get an evil fortress, im not sure how much more I can ask for.

I lost one of my CoH discs in the move.. you know, the one with the KEY on it. So I'd have to buy the game again, then buy CoV.

That ain't happening right now, though I would like to play it again. I don't see it holding my interest for too long, but I did enjoy it.

From PC Gamer:
- "...much of the follow-up to CoH plays and feels too much like its goody-two-shoes twin."
- "City of Villains is Bizarro to CoH's Superman -- it looks awfully familiar, just slightly twisted.  Emphasis on "slightly": CoV never displays enough of a wicked personality to be truly compelling.  ...like so many comic anti-heroes, the difference between good and evil is difficult to distinguish."
- "Plays just like CoH; needs more of its own, evil personality; weak-ass PvP."

If we want to do something new, I'd rather wait for DDO than go back to CoH/CoV but even DDO is way up in the air.  Do we have any other ideas?  We could always focus on our highest lvl toons and try to get to the WoW end game.

afflack is 5k away from lvl 47 and a kick ass corporal. If COV has the same linear quests that COH had when first released then its gonna be blah after a bit. So i dunno, im out of ideas. Id love a game with some global domination, armys taking control over countries, global warfare etc. Wheres that game?

ddo is teh sux.

Sher, you don't need your code once you already activated the game. You need it to install though, if you have uninstalled it since you played it last.

I agree that it won't hold my attention very long, but it's something different for now.

AGE OF CONAN!!!!

That's it!

* Explore Hyboria, the legendary world of Conan, presented in incredible graphics and sound.

* Emerge as a hero from a story-driven single-player experience and embark into even greater adventures in the multiplayer part of the game. The branching single-player story is created by the award-winning writers behind The Longest Journey, Dreamfall and Anarchy Online so expect a rare treat.

* Experience Funcom’s revolutionary “Real Combat” engine. A new multi-point melee system allows the players to swing their weapons where they direct it, in real-time, going head-on against the formulaic nature of online RPG combat.

* Create player-made battle formations, and command both NPC’s and other players in epic multiplayer battles.

* Form guilds in the multiplayer game and lay siege to hostile castles. Let the catapults sing their merry song of death as the enemy is brutally crushed to a pulp.

Doesn't come out until 06/06 though. that's like.... 6 months!

I won't play DDO. And that's cool about the key Torrin, maybe someone could zip file it for me? After checking, I think we threw the other disc away since we didn't have the first one. So I guess I'd need the whole damn thing. Blah blah.

I would play it again though, just for kicks.

Age of Conan is definitely in the cards for us.  I've been drooling over it for months.  Until then, I say we try and find a way to renew WoW.

The Chronicles of Spellborn looks like a promising game as well.

We could also try a pvp server...  I started up a character on Aegwynn, a new pvp server, to try it out.
Kundera - Tauren Shaman (the more I play Alliance on AD, the more I hate Alliance characters)

Im still pretty hooked on WoW and starting next month I'll be on dayshift, so I should be able to play on a regular schedule.

Ya but so is horde on killrog and I still would hate to lose everything ive done with afflack just to start over. I would love to move killiuminati over to a pvp server though.

O ya

Age of conan is definitly the way to go, I looked at that last week and was really impressed.

Doubt they'll allow normal to pvp server moves.

For those of us that have been playing well over a year now, if only we had a good 5 man team to get into the high end content.  Right now, we don't.  Nearly all of our 45+ toons are dps classes.  We REALLY need a priest and a warrior and I don't see us having a 50+ priest in the next several months.  Brown and Sherica both have warriors coming up quickly.  Jakiera can also tank/heal but she is a feral build. That leaves us with:

Tanking
Warrior: Palirio and Ditsei
Druid:   Jakiera

Healing
Druid:   Jakeira

DPS
Hunter: Kundera
Hunter: Ranulf
Druid: Jakiera
Rogue: Afflack
Rogue: Ashu
Rogue: Oshu
Mage:  Agnes

Thoughts?  Ideas?

I think our best bet is to pick the toon we want to take to 60 and drive it there.  Mandy took Benedicta from 45 to 60 in right about a month.  I'm betting us 45ishers could get to 60 by the end of February pretty easily.

Here's how we could be looking in the near future:
Tanks
Warrior - Ditsei, Palirio
Druid  - Jakiera, Adelyse

Healers
Druid  - Jakiera, Adelyse

DPS
Hunter - Kundera, Ranulf
Druid   - Jakiera, Adelyse
Rogue: Afflack, Ashu, Oshu
Mage:  Agnes

With these players possibly coming up quickly:
Tanks
Druid  - Gawth

Healing
Priest  - Amanda, Sherica, Bodacia
Druid  - Gawth

DPS
Hunter - Dunher, Grayze, Llori
Mage   - Thelmi
Rogue - Jenara, Liriraak
Druid   - Gawth

Support
Paladin  - Glimer
Warlock - Iden

...damn we're DPS heavy.  =)

If I had my pick with the current high levelers, we'd look like this:
Tanks
Sherica - Warrior Ditsei
Brown  - Warrior Palirio

Healing
Ripp     - Druid Jakiera
Killian    - Druid Adelyse

DPS
Afflack  - Rogue Afflack
Torrin   - Rogue Oshu
Lux      - Mage Agnes

Who here thinks that power-leveling is going to make the game more interesting, or infuse fun back into it? I'm not trying to be a damper but I'm not really interested in humping my way to the 'end game' when it takes a 40 man raid to do any of that shit.

I'm thinking more of the 5-man and 10-mans.  And according to Blizzard, they're soon to be adding more of those.  Personally, I'm just looking for more of us grouping because that is when the game is fun.  Right now, it's tough to group with one another because our characters are spread all over.  My thinking is that if we're all at the end game, then we'll be grouping more.  I think a lot of us are growing tired of the game because we've seen the level 1-50 content too many times now.  There's a lot that I still haven't seen in-game.  I'm not looking to power lvl the new players because they need to experience the levels to 50 but those of us that have played to 50 (multiple times), I'd like to see us bite down and get some 60 toons on AD but not with just any toons.  We need to have a good mix because as we've seen with Sunken Temple, we're way too DPS heavy at the moment.

I'll definitely have Jakiera to level 60 by the end of February. On vacation all week and she's practically level 56 atm.

As for the healing role she should do just fine once I can get her some good gear for it.
