I've actually never used Vent but I have the software installed and a headset that I've yet to use. I bought it for BF2 but I've yet to play online.

Last night was really my first night with so many people on Ventrilo. I noticed a lot of time where we were just standing around while everyone chit-chatted. I'm not a fan of Vent, and this is no secret, and I think I am the only one period who doesn't like it. I think it's a great thing for quick information that needs to be relayed and I understand commenting, etc. But last night we just kind of 'hung out' in the middle of the instances while people told stories about cartoons, work, etc. Since most of these instances last until 11 or so on a weeknight, it's hard to just hang out when you're tired.

As I had only ever been in that place twice before, I'm not comfortable enough to just zone out and clear rooms without thought and the constant chatter in the ears was a little bit hard for me to take at times. Also, I did notice that text chat was sometimes not even seen because everyone was focusing on vent and playing.

I'd like to see if we could sorta come up with some kind of middle ground? I really think Vent is a good thing. I know you guys are sociable in the chatty way and don't want to be a spoil-sport or ostracize myself as 'that crabby lady who doesn't like us' or something.

I didn't get too chatty last night because I've been sick so me sick + Texan accent = very hard to understand. Linnaris and Ingo had me cracking up though. Holy shit those South Park impressions were dead on. I had tears.

I didn't think we stood around chatting too terribly much. The only times I think we could have moved a little faster was when we divvied out the loot after each boss. We should probably take a chat break at those times to get the loot out and get moving.

I LOVED listening to everyone last night.
