So, TBC is now delayed until January. That means 14 weeks (at worst, and there's no reason not to assume the worst) until new content. How are you going to fill those weeks? Will WoW still be part of your routine?

I'm not just asking to be sociable. There are repercussions here for the cruise directors. There's a lot of content we could see in the next 14 weeks, but we can only see it if people play the game.

Oh, I'll still be around.

Maybe not as much as before but I'll definitely attend any runs that are scheduled when I'm not working.

Yeah, the January release changes things for me. There is still a lot of content that I want to see -- for example, ZG and AQ20 -- but I need nineteen other close friends to pull it off. I'm more than willing to make time for these things, but I admit that I've been really disheartened lately by planning my life around, say, a ZG run, and then have half the people who RSVPed not show up so the thing gets cancelled.

Aro just stated more eloquently than I ever could my exact feelings.

Thanks!

Pretty much what Aro said. I will be on with Jamisia occasionally, but only for specific reasons, like to help a few friends with the .5 questline, etc. I'd LOVE to run ZG and AQ20, but given how poor attendance has been, I'm not holding my breath anymore. I'll also be around playing a low level Warlock I've started, but I'm not guilding that character until I see if I really want to keep playing em.

In the meantime, starting tomorrow I'll be playing Dark Messiah of Might and Magic when it comes out, and a few other games between now and then.

I would love to get into the ZG and AQ instances more often, but given how many people have been showing up of late, that's going to be tough to do. I'll still be around for them if something gets scheduled, I'll be signing up for them regardless and will be more than happy to help out on other instance runs. But in the meantime branching out and starting a new toon or two gives me more things to experience in the game and more stuff to play with when the *DO* finally release BC.

I'm still hoping to have Killian 60 by expansion release time so I'm actually kinda happy about the news. If only I could get a frickin' house, with a frickin' reliable Internet connection and a frickin' comfortable workspace. grrrr.....

Amen Sister Arolaide! I feel the exact same way. Rinader will always be available. I just finished up Titan Quest so I'll probably be working on my alts abit more.

I still be around alot but maybe not as much. Not because of the expansion but because it's getting near the end of the semester and I need to really focus more on school. I HAVE to get A's and B's or mommy and daddy wont pay rent for me anymore. ;D

We had these crossroads months ago about whether to raid or not to raid. I said then that we were not prepared to do it but that we should prepare and start doing it. I knew then that this ennui would occur down the road. The guild is now in limbo and unless it is jump-started it will wither even more. Well as you have probably noticed, I haven't been around lately. I do not play as much as I once had and now when I do, I am playing my Shaman on Shattered Hand. The reason for this is I figured out that if I wanted to see new content I had to go back to my old server. I tried to play both servers, have my cake and eat it too, but I find myself wanting to log in there.

I really like this guild and the people that are in it but let’s face it; unless you start energizing now you will lose more people due to new games, holidays, other guilds, other servers, etc. One excuse or another will come across but it will boil down to people not wanting to run the same 5man yet again (or whatever repeatable grind you wish to fill in here). An organization of people either moves forward or reverse, trying to keep it in stasis doesn’t work. Waiting for an expansion to energize the interest was and is a mistake. Do you think the people who are absent will return once they lay roots elsewhere if it is just coming back to the same ole same ole?

Just my two cents (which have deprecated with inflation sadly)

I'm in a similar situation as Widget. I've been waiting for months for enough individuals to gear up and want to run some of the higher content like ZG and AQ20 and not get stuck in the same old 5 man grind. In the meantime I've been playing my warrior on Surumar, doing ZG, AQ20, and MC regularly.

This exact situation happened on Dalaran in the guild I was part of there. The guild there doesn't exist anymore. The people who were in it are now either part of other guilds or have quit. I don't want to see the same thing happen to VS that has happened to many guilds that have stagnated.

I know people are bored but there are two instances, ZG and AQ20 which this guild has barely touched. There's fun to be had there, I promise!

If you want to see the content, then sign up for events. It's really simple.

And if you sign up, please either show up as promised or give us a timely warning that you cannot make it. <3 <3 <3

Or I will be mad, and bitter, and desirous of busting some kneecaps on account of I did not expect that kind of rudeness from the people I know here. <3 <3 <3

120% agreement with everything Widget and Valneron said, though at this point, I'm at a loss as to what to do. I was in the very same guild as Valneron that he is mentioning on Dalaran and he's exactly right.

I think the biggest problem is people who sign up and then not show up for the event (which is going to happen occasionally, not a big deal, everyone has something come up at times, but damn Pal has made a career out of this!).

At the same time we're rapidly running into a nasty area where people who do want to go aren't even bothering to try because they'll assume we won't have enough people right off the bat.

And most people who have responded to this thread wanting to see the content HAVE signed up for nearly all of the events, and shown up for that matter.

We have?

Not really, no. Widget wants us to see this content, but hasn't signed up for ZG run in a while. Val wants us to see this content and signed up for one run this month. I want to see this content, but haven't been signing up for other reasons.

I should add that I'm not criticizing anyone for not signing up. It's just a game. I'm not sitting here scribbling all your names onto my Enemies List. Things come up, you get busy, it happens.

Should note that of every ZG run we've had, I've missed -- count it -- one, ONE run. I believe I've signed up for/been present at most of the few AQ 20 runs we've had also (all of this since Eulalia has been guilded mind).

Should also be noted that I'm not at all bored with the available content. If I don't sign up for something, it's because (since I'm already geared) I figure other people need it more. I'm doing the instance quests now because I want the money (money is cool), not because I find any use out of the actual rewards or from any of the loot dropped. Currently the only upgrades for Eulalia exist in Naxxramas, excepting trinkets (sadly my sense of honor prevented me from faning someone out of a Drakefang Talisman before I quit raiding ... fucking conscience).

This is not to brag, it's just an explanation for why I don't sign up for more 5 mans etc. I feel like I'm taking a place that could be better served by someone who would get more mileage out of the instance's rewards. I still really enjoy these instances. Also, AQ 20 is not my favorite place in the world, but going at it afresh is interesting, and I've always thought ZG was beautiful. I would REALLY like to finish up my reputation in ZG in particular. I'm so close to exalted y'all XD
