Post your thoughts about our first raid with the Lifers.

I'm dosed up on Nyquil, so I'll post mine here tomorrow.

I was a bit miffed about the bijou rolls, but not a big fleshy deal. Other than that I thought it was excellent.

I had a really good time, they were fun to hang out with, and as someone said toward the end of the raid, "Are you sure we're not all in the same guild?"

Thumbs up on the Lifers, I think the small snarls we encountered can be smoothed out through future tweaks. The main thing is that they were good people and indeed seem cut from the same cloth as us. By which I mean lots of mom jokes.

There needs to be some more meshing, god I have used that word so much today I don't even think it is a word anymore.

We kind of took their lead tonight, and it did work great. I think there are some things/roles that we can work out in the future to make it better.

I was just so happy that their "OMG! We have an awesome way to kill the Blood Lord!!!" thing wasn't one of the many exploits on that guy.

Yeah, just a matter of remembering that not everyone is on vent. Some of their people weren't on either. So I guess they missed out as well.

As Torrin said, we did take their lead. It was like we were visiting their house, so we had to do things the weird way. You mean I need to take off my shoes & not sit on the sofa? Ok man, whatever.

Sunday's run will be the opposite. They'll be visiting us, so Gawth and Rin will get to show off their tanking skills. We'll have a designated MA. We'll have better sheeping, etc.

Eventually, should we keep this up, the styles will coalesce.

But as for tonight, yeah, I thought it went well. Their mad melee dash on the snake didn't kill us like I thought it would. Their bloodlord strat was good.

They have some flaky people. And they are less organized in their pulls and targeting than we are. Although we never wiped, there were some crazy moments. That can get better through practice, I imagine.

I think it's also important to note that it seemed like everyone was on their best behavior; people were paying attention, and that made many things go a lot more smoothly than they have for us in the past.

Well, they certainly had some people that weren't paying attention. Notice the endless deaths on the bats.

But our folks were great and I expected nothing less.

True, the rogues did die a lot on the bats. But they were very attentive to their mt most of the time when he said to stop dps. The only time they messed that up was on the spider boss, because they were excited, and I can understand that since they had never downed her. The rest of the time their leader would be like, "No dps until the third sunder," and they were all, "Kay."

That's WAY better than I do most of the time, because I will mea culpa here and admit that often I forget to let the tank get some aggro in before I attack the fatties. Anyway, I thought they were a swell group of people, and I'm excited about doing more stuff with them.

I look forward to fighting the bloodlord again, because he never was watching me, and I'd like some practice NOT screwing that up. I noticed a couple of times last night when I was like "OH SHIT HE IS WATCHING SOMEONE ok it wasn't me. Whew." If it had been me I would have died. So I need to NOT do that. Although I do admit I want to die on him at least once sometime, just so I can hear him yell DING. And his friends go GRATZ.

But it was REALLY REALLY fun.

Yeah, AOL on the "people paying attention" and "being on best behaviors". Downing the bat lady was really awesome - despite the deaths - and it was pleasant to see her wee frustrated face whenever a Heal DID NOT GO OFF AS PLANNED. Ha ha, sucker! MEET A ROGUE.

I had a great deal of fun; it was a novelty downing four bosses and never dying once.

The only other thing I didn't like was that Chuck kept haranguing me in tells about when/why/how/where/what day of the week I got my gears >_>;

I wasn't there, but I've made comments about ZG privately to others before, so I'd like to say this publicly. This is the first time I've actually seen people posting about how much fun they had on a ZG raid. From where I sit at least, no one ever talks about ZG being fun.

He seemed excitable. I think he nearly blew up when I mentioned MC.

It was really nice to down 4 bosses. I got to watch the fights from a completely different perspective. AND IT DROVE MY NUTS!!! lol. Seriously, both our guilds are a very tight knit group of very strong personalities. For our first romp into the jungle, I think the experience was very rewarding for all involved. We got to see them in action as well as get a glimpse into their personal side. They can be just as crude as us. Plus they have Blue Iris! Sunday they will be on our turf, so we need to bring our A game.

From watching a lot of it over Arolaide's shoulder, it looked as though it went very well, all in all! Downing four bosses in one run is certainly the best we'd done thus far! Congrats to all who went, and major congrats to Rinader on your new sword bro!

I still feel really bad about my pre-emptive roll on the Primal Hakkari Kossack, I mean it seemed to me like it took them all aback AND I MADE THEIR ROLLS SUCK OUT OF NERVOUSNESS.

In other news, I am tickled that when I talk to the rep guy who gives the pallies their set pieces, he calls me a heathen.

He only does business with warriors and heathens.

... it took me a really long time to figure out that he meant 'paladins.' Like, 'yesterday I wandered around the island getting frustrated because I could figure out where to turn in my bracers, because the only one with a ? over his head said he only did business with warriors and heathens' really long time.

Ing is very devoted. She is not very clever. And neither am I, apparently.

ZG is fun! What is this magical strategy you guys used on the bloodlord?

We hit the wall, except for the tanks and the pallies. The pallies were healing the offtanks, so I don't know much about what went on with the Bloodlord. But what happened with the raptor was that the two offtanks pulled him up on this ledge, away from the Bloodlord and the rest of the raid, and switched him back and forth every time one of them got a certain number of sunders. Nan and I focused on healing them and keeping them alive, so someone else will have to chime in on how they brought down the Bloodlord. But basically we kept the offtanks alive until the rest of the raid pwnt the Bloodlord, and then everyone descended on the raptor and beat it to death.
