Anyone having a go at this? The game itself is pretty tight; besides the usual latency issues. The initial toon choices are somewhat limited; but I think that is Turbine's attempt at keeping the game within the Tolkien mythos.

I disliked it in beta and I'm still angry with Turbine over AC2 so I'll be passing.

I did not enjoy beta at all; unless anything has changed, I'll have to pass too. One thing that really grated on me is that I don't enjoy games where classes are always cookie-cutter, meaning that every single lvl 25 ranger is exactly identical ability-wise to every other lvl 25 ranger, with the only difference being equipment. One reason why I think so many people still enjoy WoW is the variation in the talent system :)

QFT bruddah. I think that I will hang around at least until Pirates of the Burning Sea goes live. I did like growing onions, have only scratched the TS surface. I am going to "try" (operative terrm) to not Min/Max this game and see how enjoyable it is.
Bottom line is WoW still is head and shoulders above every other MMO out there.

Played the beta looked a lot like a WOW clone, with a couple of action bars moved around. Probably won't be trying it. I already have a fantasy MMO now if they can make a decent MMO in another genra I will try it.

Call me crazy but I enjoyed DDO to a certain extent, and even if game mechanics are fucked, immersing myself in the mythology of the world (if that is well executed) goes a long way for me (ala SWG).
I never did try the Beta, and I'm considering picking up LOTRO now that its been out for a bit just to check it out.

I'll admit that I didn't like it when I tried it. The story was pretty good but I don't play an online game for story. So, when you strip the story away you get a WoW clone. Or something close to it anyway.

Yea, when I saw it on a friends computer it looked to be the same thing to me as it did in Beta. It's close to being a WoW clone but where every single class is EXACTLY the same except for equipment because there didn't appear to be anything like talents. IE, every lvl 25 ranger is just like every other lvl 25 ranger except for what they might be carrying. That's moronic.

I found it boring. I missed the extras that are in wow- like the dancing and emotes.

I own this and revisted it about a month or so ago and had a good time playing as well. I just didn't know anyone else playing so I faded away again. Maybe I'll try it one more time.
