We've been experiencing some issues this morning (it's actually been off/on all week) with our service provider. I have a ticket open and I'm asking that they actually dig to find out why

Server Load 60.89 (4 cpus)
Memory Used 97.5 %
Disk /dev/sda9 (/home) 94 %

keeps happening. We pay way too much to be having this kinda shit happening.

Anyway, just to let you all know I'm aware of the problem and that I'm bitching to the powers that be.

Thanks for hounding their asses! Hopefully they're not in Bangalore!

I'm pissed because I'm off from work today, and damned Bliz maintenance will keep my from having fun until 2 local time. Bah! I'm gonna go have some cake AND pie!

I requested a root analysis on the issues we've had this week and it appears as though another user on our server had been causing some trouble. Supposedly, it's been resolved. We'll see.

That reminds me, Killian... is it time to make some donations for the site? I have no idea how much these things cost.

Ya! You've done such a great job! I'd love to help out if you need it.

Oh... and are there other options that we could have if we pitched in?

I'd be a fool not to take your money but it's not necessary. :) If you really really want to give, we do have a PayPal donation button at the bottom of the front page.

The site runs us about $200 a year but it's money well spent -- and that's a wicked good price for all that we have.

I totally could throw in some bonuses for those that donate. I'll just have to think some up.

where the hell is the catalogue..

Speaking of donations, I don't need any right now for vent but that is still ongoing. Perhaps killian and I should start a pool account for that? dunno how it would work.

Anyway, not asking for donations. Hopefully in a patch or two the built in voice can be of actual use!

For what it's worth, if it becomes necessary, I have my own happy co-located server that could host the forums if need be. It currently runs SMF, so the forums would need to switch or there would be a need to purchase vBulletin (there's nothing that says it couldn't run SMF and vBulletin, but vBulletin ain't free).

Just sayin'.

Thanks for the offer, Beam. I think we're all set for now though.

I click new posts and it shows "General - AddOns." It has last post by Foxfyr and there are 7 replies. If I click on it just goes to the wiki. I see no replies or a place to reply. Also it stays in my new posts area. What am I doing wrong here?

I believe there is a new comment in the wiki from Fox, which is why it showed up as new posts, I assume.

What I am trying to say is when I go to that wiki article I can't see any of the posts people have made.

Ya, I put a comment after it because I know people don't notice changes in the wiki. I added a macro wiki too today. If you have any macros that people might benifit from feel free to add them.

I have a bunch in the hunter wiki - I will copy it into yours when I get a chance. Unless you beat me to it. :D

We're still having these load issues (down for 34 mins this afternoon). Hopefully they figure out how to prevent the problems we're experiencing very soon.

Received this email this evening. Hopefully things improve.

----------------------------------------

I have just completed an audit of the server hosting your sites and have implemented quite a few adjustments and modifications to service configuration that should result in improved and more stabilized performance. As a part of the audit, the machine was rebooted to bring it online with a new Linux Kernel.

If you continue to experience issues moving forward, please do let us know. Thank you.
