Yea Meele pets in instances take some getting used to and can have a very short life span. As Beam said

1.Disable any taunt skill your pet has and if it has strong opening dmg or stuns disable them and activate them manually. It's hard for a tank to keep aggro and properly position the mob if a pet runs in and stuns it or drops a dps bomb in the very early going.

2.Put your pet on passive and control everything they do, many times I have see raids get wiped because pets got to close to elite mobs and aggro them on the group.

3.Make sure you have a threat meter and are comfortable using it.

4.Soul Shatter is your friend, don't wait till your close to passing the tank before you use it. Make sure the button is an easy place that you can find quickly in a panic. Mine is right beside my shadow bolt button.

5.Review your spec, with your current play style. Have things changed? Are you grouping more and soloing less. Are there points spent that could be used somewhere else to provide better performance overall. I thought when I hit L70 DD's spec would not change, I could not have been more wrong. I have respec'd more at L70 then I ever did from L10-L69.

6.Don't freak out when you wipe a group, and don't let others get you down, we have all done it multiple times. The goal is to do it less and in more interesting and fun ways as time goes by.

I'm feeling lucky, Andist and Abia want to string me up and use me for target practice and I really couldn't blame them...but it was funny.

Ok folks. First, there was no gripe. My attempt at dry humor failed.

I actually enjoyed the feedback. Simply because I need it.

Also, I enjoyed the group. I don't do groups that much let alone trying to survive in a stand up fight in a dungeon where I can actually hurt things. Granted I was just a tad low to be trying to hurt things--when they decided to hurt me it generally worked (all to well).

So as far as my 'lock goes, I'm a newb. Will be for a while until I get into larger groups and figure out what I'm doing with spells, pets, etc.

I'm more of a Hunter and Pally player. Them I understand and I've never grouped with my Hunter in an instance...normally because I don't do instances. I've never done a lvl 50 or greater instance simply because all of my previous game play involved guilds that we not able to be on-line when I was.

I've never gotten a toon above 60 for several reasons. Normally because I've always played 6 toons at a time and ran them all up to their 50s when Blizzard and I had a dispute and I closed the account (over 2 years ago)--no, I wasn't banned. Playing on a new account sucks but I've had fun starting from scratch.

Guys, there has never been an issue with Andist or Abia. Any stringing up was from Andist not Abia so I apologize if I offended at all.

Andist and Killian know me enough to understand I wasn't complaining. I actually had a blast. Something I need more of and hope the chance to group with them again will happen soon. I promise to keep pets in line.

I'm a hard person to read. Really.

By the way, I do appreciate the feedback, hints, suggestions, and milk in my cereal (I hate dry cereal--I like it squishy).
