I totally agree. I just wish they didn't market this as THE Dungeons and Dragons. To me, 4thE is not what D&D is about.

Ohhhh, if only you knew the story behind that. Better that most people don't. There is a lot of backstabbing and double-dealing for Gary's legacy that goes into this story, and the people who's hearts are in the game aren't the ones that are making money off it. A lot of the old original crew and they people who supported them have been screwed by lawyers and businessmen completely unfamiliar with the game or what it means.

a buddy of mine had a set of dice that was cursed ( I am willing to bet everyone had a set)
IT will only roll below 10 and when we needed a high roll it would seem to roll "1"

During one game We have been rolling a lot of "1" it was embarrassing and no matter what dice we used, the "curse" would traval to other dice

It was some kind of Dice STD

This was a few years ago, when 3.0 was out and it was a 1st level Adventure.

I was a bit too young back when my brothers did their DnD thing to remember some of the better stories, but one thing I do remember is my best character, the kender, and his mining pick of truth. He did some pretty cool things, but the best part of the Mining Pick of Truth is that I had 5 or so called shots to the head in that campaign, and got a 20 on each of them. I still use it as my health die whenever I play MTG.

I had a halfling rogue who pretended to be a ranger, used a bow all the time. I was pretty good one-hit kills. They always seemed to be on impossible shots that I could only get with a 20... then I would roll 3 in a row and one-shot some demon that was 6 hit dice above my own.

Man, I can't believe I miss this until now. I swear I'm going to have to take a day off to go play D&D.

So, I spoke with my boss and work looking into changing my schedule. We'll see what happens.
