You should still be able to check the hardware version of it. Look into it, for $6.50 how can you go wrong.

I ordered one a few minutes ago. There are just a ton more apps for the iPhone than the Blackberry and it makes me sad now.

Hey Hom,
Do you use the same account password for any other WoW related sites? Could be that one of THOSE was hacked and not your PC.

Yea they spammers and account hackers have been pressing hard lately even posting links in our forums.
Jack and I have ordered Authenticators, only $6.50 each well worth it. Anyone else use them? I will let you know how they are when we get them.
That really sucks Home, hope it gets resolved soon.
DD, I've had an authenticator for several months now. Works good. Come see me at work if you want to check it out. I'm in every afternoon.

I wondered where you were, have not seen you at work for a while. I think Feal has one too, though he does not play anymore, lazy bastage!

Yeah, I been working afternoons shifts for a bit now.
Let's get some duct tape and find Feal.

Hey Hom,
Do you use the same account password for any other WoW related sites? Could be that one of THOSE was hacked and not your PC.
The only thing that I use the password combo for that "makes sense" that one would connect to WoW is the Warcraft login page. And maybe my old battle.net account (although I haven't accessed that in a while...)
So it's unlikely. For some reason one of the addons I had installed was causing my Warcraft program to freeze during screen loads, so I removed all addons and I'm going to do some work to make sure that I have the correct versions of things.
One possibility is that something went wonky with WoWmatrix, because some of the Addons that should not have been able to update, did. I'm wondering if someone managed to exploit the void from Curse blocking WoWmatrix...
Oh, btw... Hom is currently unguilded. I'm not sure if someone kicked me to keep me from accessing stuff, or if the hacker did it for some reason... but, if you see me on and can /ginvite, I'd appreciate an invite back... Thanks!

This can happen to anyone of us.... as much as you do to protect yourself, no one really knows how they get our info so you can't blame yourself.
We just have to try to watch out for each other. A couple months back I noticed Brown logging into his alts and not talking to people and I was able to get a message to him before too much damage was done.
And no one seems to be using the stuff in the guild bank anyway so it isn't too great a loss :)
I just got my mobile authenticator app set up on my iPhone so I'm feeling a little safer.... until I forget my phone somewhere that is.

Well, I got this tonight:
Account Action: Closure
Reason for Action: Terms of Use Violation - Economy Exploitation
After a thorough investigation, we have found that a player of the account listed above participated in activities designed to gain an unfair advantage in the World of Warcraft economy.
Well, duh... some chinese gold farmer gave all of my money to some jackass who bought gold... but it wasn't me!
Sure would be nice if they replied to either of the two emails I sent them... or to the ingame petition I made this morning...
I sent another email, hopefully this will get sorted out...
Otherwise I'm going to be really pissed... I mean I'd think they'd give me the benefit of the doubt after playing their game for 3 F***ing years!

I wonder if it would help if others in the guild weighed in too. We're all long-time players, of course, might have some weight.

If I have to pull folks in, I certainly will. I will let you all know what happens.
I think the most annoying part is the lack of response to my emails. I understand that they are protecting their investment, but I would love a little feedback here...
edit: Actually the MOST annoying part is that I'm out of town at a conference and I can't play WoW...

I put in a ticket to ask how I can help you get your account a) reopened b) restored.
Hopefully the fact that we have been on the server since it opened and that I've met you and most of the guild in real life will convince them that you are not at fault.
I'll let you know when I get a hold of one what steps they advise.

Thanks, Fox! I don't mean this to sound as sappy as it does... but I love you guys!

Call customer service...talk to an actual PERSON. Be persistent!
Let us know if there's anything we can do.

I found an actual number on the WoW forums, but when I called the recording was very insistent that they could only handle billing issues and if it was a problem with an account closure or ban then I had to go through email.
If I don't get a response to my email in the next couple of days I'll call the number back and bug someone...

This totally sucks Hom. I know several people in the WoW community on Ravelry have been hacked and gotten their items restored. I asked them how they went about it...I'll let you know what they say.
Edited to add this bit of info... From Blizzard Customer Service:
They probably haven't gotten to your e-mails yet.

An alternate route would be to send an email to the Account Administration team. The current turnaround time for email-based inquiries to this team is 7-10 days due to the volume of investigation requests that they have been receiving of late.
They probably haven't gotten to your e-mails yet.

Wow. This completely, and utterly sucks ass. I wish you the best of luck in getting them to reverse their decision, however, in my experience they absolutely refuse to listen to people once they have made closure decisions. That's one of the reasons they won't talk to you on the phone and only answer emails to the Account Admin address.

I'm still thinking its more a matter of not getting to my emails yet.
I've heard from some that they will reopen the account and give your stuff back, but that it can take up to 3 weeks...
I'm not thrilled about that (particularly because I will miss "Easter" and therefore be out of the running for the Meta achievement) but at least its reassuring that they are doing something.
They really never "delete" the account, so its really more like banned... but their scary email uses the phrase "closed..."
Or at least I'm hopeful that's the case...

Don't listen to Dal, I have known several people this happened to that had the decisions reversed. The people that jump on in game reports of people spamming the gold farming stuff (which I am sure they had you doing) probably act a lot swifter than the people that investigate hacked accounts.

.
I know the response time of the customer service is very slow right now, I think they are getting slammed with bug reports and a lot of accounts being hacked etc..
I had tickets open early in the morning and it took over 15 hrs to get it answered.

That sucks, Hom. We're here to help in anyway we can!! We'll start a rally in Dalaran if we have too, all our toons chanting "Let Hom Back In! Let Hom Back In!" ;)
It looks like everyone has a PM from a MysterialSEO today. Go ahead and delete that without opening it.
