I'd say not Saturday. That's the night both the Aquarium tour and the Comic Book Babes Costume Contest are being held. Hmmm.... decisions decisions.

The "Costuming Contest" which is judged for technical merit and costume creativity is on Friday night.

Saturday night is the Comic Book babes costume contest (formerly known as the Dawn look-alike contest--which was incidentally the "Betty Page Look-a-like contest before that).

Sunday night is the big costume contest which is a lot of skits and such (entitled The Masquerade")

After each of them there are generally concerts and such. I know on one night there's a late-night "Adult Costume Contest." And another evening is the "Miss Klingon Empire Pageant."

Occasionally they have conflicting events like the aquarium (which is actually very cool if you haven't been).

Dondoh and I are going to road trip this! A decision has been made. Not sure how much con-going we'll do...we'll probably get a day pass because I hear there is some awesome coffee for sale in the Dealer's Room.

We'll definitely hit up whirlyball on Sunday night.

What time on Sunday night will the Whirlyball be reserved? I wanna make sure to carve out that time slot in my schedule.

I booked Whirlyball this morning. We will have the court for 2 hours on Sunday from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. I also set up a pizza and drinks package so people can plan on dinner there.

Excellent! I hope I'm better at Whirlyball than I was at trampoline dodgeball...

I am really, really going to be sad about missing this. I will plan on doing Dragon Con next year.

Now I can't find any decent flights out of Atlanta... Lots of options to fly in for the weekend using points but nothing flying out on the Monday... they are all overnight connecting flights or $600! Is anyone driving from a nearby town that I can try to fly out of? And maybe hitch a ride to said town on the Monday? I don't mind squishing in a trunk! ;)

VSFest IV Part Deux!

If you are coming in for this and you want to stay in the Hilton downtown (which is one of the con hotels) I have an extra bed.

There are some minor stipulations... you will likely have to share with Rastus (not the bed, the room although Rastus told me the other day that he was pretty flexible), and my mom or Arachne or I will probably use your TV from time to time while the baby sleeps in the neighboring adjoined room.

But on the bright side, paying for a half-room at a Con hotel is a pretty good deal. PM me if your interested (or if you just want to make me less lonely and send me a PM for no real reason, that would be fine too.)

I've been looking into this and all the hotels left are far and/or expensive. Hom, I sent you a PM...may work out. I would like to see a few more VS'ers face to face.

Alrighty, I bit the bullet and booked my flight. Someone's going to have to drive me to the airport at an ungodly hour on Monday but at least I get to do whirlyball!

That just leaves confirmations from Eyeshark and Witherwing (and anyone else who might be making a last minute decision).

I don't need to spend the money right now but life is to short and there will be many VS'ers that I haven't met. I'm on for Friday mid morning to Monday afternoon. And I have to meet X. Any man that has the balls to wear high heels and fangs......

It's all about VS. Those actors and stuff are just a bonus.
