I'm sure I will continue to play WOW as I still have fun doing so. I have been playing and have toons in SWTOR, STO, GW2 and played LOTRO some about a year ago. I have no strong feelings, good or bad about any of these games. I'll have to agree with most that I am a VS fan and the game we play is secondary.

So, I will continue with WOW and also try to join in on other games we would like to try out.

Does anyone have any comments on the upcoming D&D Neverwinter? I haven't really read much, just saw an ad for it.

I know someone in Beta. He says is very simplistic and seems more multiplayer hack and slash rather than full on MMO. Kinda like a Diablo. But that's not first-hand.

I played UO and EQ, but DDO was where I really got into MMOs. I always thought it was a well done game, I wish Turbine would launch a next-gen version. Another complicating factor is that the D&D IP is pretty corrput at this point, what with 4thEd/5thEd. I'd like to see a classic D&D MMO.

So many acronyms!

I think Mal has a good idea, a Minecraft server would pretty awesome for the guild to hang out in the interim. No set goals or objectives to meet. We could all just hang out in there and do whatever we feel like at that time. It probably isn't a long term option but would be fun.

I don't want to take anything away from WoW and LOTRO, but is this a desire of anyone elses?

To be more specific, who would use a server should I get one up and running? And would you mind using Feed The Beast mod loader?

You can download a demo but nowadays you have to make a Mojang account to do so. Perhaps there is a demo download somewhere else on the net? The demo is of creative mode only and not the survival portion. Multiplayer is not accessible in the demo, or wasn't last time I checked. Game is $27 bucks to buy.

Maybe I'll make a poll or two.

For the record, I miss you guys too. I would probably come back into a new game and would almost certainly play around in Minecraft. I just can't do WoW anymore.

I really miss you guys! I'd love to play with you all again, but I haven't been able to get back into WoW either.

I played Guild Wars 2 for a while. It was fun but I wasn't able to find a good guild that I could really connect with. PvP was a blast though. Sooo much fun!

I would totally play modded or vanilla Minecraft with you guys. I'm a big Minecraft fan. When I mod I usually go with the Technic pack. They've got a multiplayer version too.

I'll keep checking back on this thread for sure! Sims 3 is fun, but it gets lonely sometimes. :)

I just had a thought. Is there anyone who would like to play the new SimCity game with me? It's multiplayer, with each player controling a section of the larger map.
Just a thought. :)

I don't plan to buy it. I wanted to point out that some folks are put out by EA's DRM. I think internet connection is required? I don't know the details, just that there's some anger, especially given this announcement.

Okey dokey! I've got SimCity pre-ordered. If anyone wants to play with me I'll post my settings (or whatever is required) here on Tuesday or Wednsday. :D

Homreker told me about Tera (been too busy to keep up with MMOs), and I have been giving it a shot. So far I really like it.

So I have been doing some research into TESO in regards to the faction question and guilds. It looks like the single player game is locked down and segregated by faction so that you will have to level 3 characters to experience the whole single player game.

I have found 2 big things regarding guilds so far. First is that you are not limited to a single guild. I am not sure how this will affect us in the long run, but it may allow an outlet for some players that are more into PVP or Raiding to have additional resources for expanding their goals while not having to forsake VS to do it.

The second thing isn't concrete yet, but in one interview I saw the interviewer said something about guilds being limited by faction and the dev he was interviewing replied it was too soon to talk about anything yet, but that he wouldn't be too sure that guilds would have to be divided by faction.

It sounds to me like they are making a point to make it easy to import a guild into TESO without losing members.

I can't confirm but I heard that guilds in the beta will have a head start. I'm personally put off by the trend of letting others get a head start. Sure it's rewarding and great for the early birds and it provides lots of benefits to the developer, but for everyone else it's disheartening. I'm anxious too see what this game really turns out like.

LONG LIVE HEAD STARTS! Mal, I swear I'm gonna come to Texas and let loose 100 honeybadgers in your front lawn. Do you know that auto correct changed "easier" to "Clearasil?"

I, like a few of you, have jumped from game to game whoring myself around. Nothing has stuck. I'm going to try the Neverwinter beta this weekend to give it a spin. In addition to TESO, Wildstar has my interest piqued. I'd also be willing to give FFXIV-Take2 a good stabbing.

I'll probably hop onto you guys' TERA server. I have like a lvl 40 on one server. Don't remember which one. LOTRO, I could never get past the incredibly ugly toons but did enjoy the game. Secret World didn't do it for me. SWTOR, meh. Minecraft makes me nauseous. GW2 I haven't really been able to get into -- not sure why. Rift I like but the world seems too dingy/AoC for my liking. AC2 is back. I played it for a couple of weeks but no one else I knew was playing so that fell by the wayside.

Pirate101 is what we should all play. :D

Just from curiosity...why has no one mentioned Warhammer?

My short sortie there was not entirely painful.

Pirates of the Burning Seas seems interesting...and there is fishing.

FFXIV looks decent...I hope they still have a fishing class.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone tried Everquest 2? Twist plays that a lot these days. It's quite fun, especially if you like to craft. The thing that always gets in my way with EQ2 is the animation. That can really disrupt my immersion.

I love and adore EQ2...the crafting system is outstanding.

I've been all over the map with MMO's. In general, I've been taking a break from them. Mostly been playing modded Minecraft, which I enjoy more than vanilla.

In regards to picking up another game, I guess I am curious if the focus would be another fantasy MMO, or something different?

If you want a quality fantasy MMO, then Rift should be tried as you can play with almost all features for an unlimited time up to level 20. This is the same as Blizzard does with WoW. I've read that that player and guild housing, which comes in the form of separate dimensions, is the best there is out there.

I also really like LOTRO for the lore and the gameplay. I also liked the player housing but really only dabbled with that.

Elder Scrolls Online is generating a lot of interest right now too. Also, Darkfall 2 is creeping out of the shadows and drags in those people that step through the curtain, or so I've heard.

Warhammer Online also has a free intro. I like some of the game mechanics of that game. Also has the most similar look to WoW I think.

Sci-Fi wise, SWTOR should be the top choice. The free to play option is very lacking though and almost requires you spend some money to get a real feel for the whole game. The only issue with it, and it's the issue that is killing the game, is that once you go through the great storyline quests, there's very little end game. That is changing now.

Star Trek online is really great, if crowded. Playing for free is very possible and rewarding. Crafting is lacking but has improved.

That's just a few.

It's confirmed; you don't even like reading my shit.

I've been going to get into the relaunch of POTBS but have not done so yet. Might be fun manning a ship with friends. I like pumping balls from a cannon....

I thought SWTOR was the grand prize for you? I think the same thing that happend to me happened to you and a lot of other people, that once the fantastic story quests were done there wasn't any gas left in the tank; a glorified single player game.

When did you try Minecraft last? It's probably better than you remember if it was a couple of years ago.

Pirates of the Burning Sea? Or you just funnin'?
