That the first vacation I'm taking in almost 2 years is still 8 days away.

Right now I hate Oc Rush hour traffic. Fuck you and your doubling my commute on the one day I can't car pool.

Things I hate:

- That there exists the need for me to explain to children about adult predators and what to do if they are threatened.
- Being a person that explains to children some of the darker things in life and hoping that what I say isn't going to speed the loss of their innocence.
- Being, in some instances, the only person in a child's life that provides consistant punishment for improper behavior.
- Being, in some instances, the only adult in a child's life the child feels comfortable enough to talk to.
- Having to bite my tongue when a parent says to me, "I wish my child listened to me like he listens to you." Knowing full well that if I told them what I thought of their wish they'd pull their kid out of my class and that would, in the long run, hurt the child more.

- And today I think the thing I hate most is being the adult to force a 6 year old child to learn his address and phone number because his fucking parents are too goddamn immature to do it.

Today, there are quite a few mental images that I'm having trouble reconciling. I like it.

I teach martial arts and "self-defense" to kids. I used to teach adults as well, but I gave that up because it was interfering with my own training.

I still hold a stick and knife work class for adults though when I feel like it.

When the freakin' picture thread gets hijacked because Dominicide people can't stop being lame with each other.

My daughter takes Tae Kwon Do - not as much "self-defense" oriented, more along the lines of self-discipline, listening, etc...the kind of stuff that isn't always easy to teach 6 year olds. And yes, Val, your post about things you hate was very sad, but only because it's so true. You may teach the young-ins, but try having one...very frustrating and scary.

I know a bit about it. I studied Tae Kwon Do as a kid myself, from the ages of 11 until 17.

I hate my chevy dealership, for not properly fixing my truck THREE times in 5 weeks.

I hate that idiot that tried to purposely run over 3 stray kittens last Sunday. He was smiling too. I hate that a tire iron (or anything, really) wasn't handy to throw at his vehicle. (The kittens were rescued btw!)

And right now, I really hate Sprint. Bought a new phone over the weekend and i've been trying for two days to get it activated only to have them tell me their system has been down. TWO DAYS! What are you, Blizzard now?

I hate people who carry on loud private conversations on their portable communications devices - cellular telephones, if you will - at their desks at work, three feet away from other people who are minding their own business, and feel that it is okay because the conversation is in a language not familiar to most persons surrounding.

Why is it, that every three day weekend, or at least ever bank holiday, suddenly becomes some huge event for car dealerships?

"It's Memorial Day Weekend OMG we HAVE to sell cars!" or "President's Day Sale Super Fun Happy Sale!"

I build these car ads for a living currently, and it's sad. Especially when some Hyundai or Toyota dealership is doing a PRESIDENT'S DAY SALE. wtf?
