Just for the hell of it I recently changed Skypop's setup. Have not had enough time to decide good, bad or ugly. Skypop was a 31 arcane 20 fire mage. Now he is a 17 arcane, 31 fire and 3 frost spec

How are you liking that pops? Arcane can be quite nasty as well. See my biggest problem is that when I am fighting solo (which I still do on occasion) I need my frost shield or else I am just lunch! But when I am in an instance, I would like to have more firepower with still great ice capabilities! I am torn!! I really liked Gleja's post with his possible build selection. I am stuck in limbo I guess

I know nothing about mages.
That being said I've read a lot about people going arcane/fire for the most DPS, what about arcane/ice for a moderate amount of DPS but still having the survivability of ice? Or do the arcane damage boosts only apply to fire spells?
