Not really, no.

Trash runs aren't seeing content, they're grinding rep for loot. I don't want loot, so I haven't been signing up, because I think grinding is boring.

It's a Catch-22; people don't want to sign up if the raid's not approaching full, so people don't sign up, so the raid's not full, so people don't sign up. We need to figure out a way to address this.

This is true. It's also why I've only scheduled one official "Trash Run" this month. When I scheduled it, you ended up with enough people to kill some bosses, so I dropped the trash run idea & only tried to schedule full raids.

Like I said, if you want to see it (the general 'you', not a specific 'you'. I'm not pointing fingers here), sign up.

I know it's very blatantly obvious to the people who make most of the organizing posts (GLEJA) but maybe we need to come out and say, "HAY GUYZ we're really short on people for straight up ZG progress attempts, don't be shy, we need at least x people to do the fun stuff and not just rep grind?" I don't want anyone to feel like they have to come, that's not what it's about, but at the same time, I agree we're in a frustrating catch-22. I don't have any really stellar ideas on how to handle this one, it's tricky.

Deme, I'm the same way with the 5 man instance runs. I have pretty much everything I need from them and don't want to take the place of a up and coming Warrior or Pally who could use the drops.

It's ironic - of all the full ZG runs Gleja has tried to schedule of late, they all had to be cancelled or turned into trash runs. The ONE specifically trash run he scheduled turned into a full run. :D

I feel pretty badly about my place in the guild. I have expectations of the future that haven't yet happened. Maligner is now 53 and some of the other toons are about 40 now and I still haven't seen anything but Deadmines and Shadow Fang Keep in my life and only made SFK to get my paladin his level 30 quest hammer. Never been to Black Fathom Deeps (except the entrance exploring. All of the instances I am a total newb at. I'm the kind of person that needs to start signing up.

Having said that I promise to sign up, when possible, at least once a week. The reasons I haven't are all RL, including kids from two families and the fact I take call in the medical field and don't ever want to sign up for an instance on a call night since getting called in means leaving NOW and that's not good for anyone. I'll be all rah-rah about it to, so let's do it!

Since I was singled specifically out, I'll respond in a similar fashion.

I only signed up for one ZG run because the second was was OBVIOUSLY not going to happen. I'm not going to make sure I'm there and ready to go at start time needlessly.

How many of the two ZG runs did you sign up for Gleja? None? If you want to see the content, take your own advice. Sign up.

I just want to renew interest in these two instances so that when 15 people sign up, 15 people show up.

And that's why I singled myself out as well, Val. I'm not going to dish out anything I can't take.

The Warrior Princess will be around as always. Actually I'm kind of happy about the delay in that it gives me a bit more time to maybe get Roowee *, Jaimee or Elysian closer to 60.

*Given Roowee's attitude lately >:( she may just have to sit and face the corner of the room until Jaimee and Elysian make level 60. "She who doesn't play nice will spends lots of time in the corner."

I really would love to do a lot more runs but as most of you know I have to work my playing schedule around my full time job of caring for my wheelchair bound elderly Aunt so the problem I run into in attending many of the runs is that the majority of them seem to start at 19:00 or 20:00 server time (5 or 6PM California time) right as I am starting... fixing... serving... or cleaning up after... DINNER so that eliminates Naomee from being able partcipate. In additon the weekend raids seem to start right when I am starting... fixing... serving... or cleaning up after... lunch so I'm a bust on those runs too most of the time. :(

If any of the weekend raids started around 15:00 server time or any instance run began after 21:30 server most any day it would make it easier for me to attend. I could even do an instance most days starting at 11:00 server time if needed. :)

I haven't been signing up for various reasons. When I do sign up I make sure I be there, cause, well... I signed up. There were a couple things that I had signed up for and missed and I apologize for that.

Originally I was only going to take Oshu into places liek ZG, AQ, but I found myself looking forward to the druid changes more then the rogue so I will allow that Gawth bitch to go. I've tanked ubers with Gawth and would like to try something harder and of course in ZG, there is all the nifty hibernating, burninating and healatating that could be useful.

How about Onyxia? :)

I would love to both see and kick her ass.

I have to finish the key on Gawth though to be able to tank. I heard there really is no better person to tank her specifically, then a druid.

One of my buddies is a druid on a raiding guild on Dalaran. He tanked her the other day and shocked everyone in the guild.

Specifically, one of the hardest parts of the fight with her is the transition from phase 2 (when she's flying) to phase 3 (when she lands again). It's hard because the tank has to reestablish aggro on her.

So my buddy tanks her. Everyone in his guild was saying he could do part 1 fine, but regaining aggro in part 3 would be very difficult for him. When phase three happened, Onyxia went RIGHT FOR HIM. He was still that high on her threat meter.

So yea, a druid tank is an excellent choice.

I will still be playing as much as I can since I am working hard on getting Oldgrayone to level 60 so I can help the guild out on both instance runs and raids. Can't wait to hear the ding of level 60. I have not signed up before this for runs or raids because Gray was to low to go but now that he is level 56 you will start seeing more of him.

I don't know if it means much but as someone who lives on the West Coast I am pretty much in the same boat with Naomee in that everything seem to be scheduled right at the times when the family sits down to eat. The times Naomee mentioned might work well for me too especially the morning runs since that is when I have the most time.

AIIGHT, so, I'm going to keep playing, mostly because I haven't been playing WoW all that long, so I'm not all that burned out on it. I haven't signed up for a lot of the ZG runs of late because I've had other stuff going on, either specific real-life events or general RL stuff I needed to do.

That said, I have seen a guild make the transition from guild of friends to raiding guild. It was NOT PRETTY, and enough people left (en masse) that they were able to start their own guild and still do almost all of the content that they were doing before. I would be very, very sad if VS started focusing more and more on raiding and less and less on having fun and helping each other.

I'm enormously glad that the instances in the expansion are going to be for smaller groups and shorter play times, because I think that'll get away from a lot of the "we need to get into endgame" stress.

I think you're misunderstanding us. There's no plans at all to focus "more and more" on raiding - but if we can't even do ONE raid once in a while, we have a serious problem. I really do understand exactly where you're coming from - but for people like me that HAVE played the game for a long time, 2.5 years now, doing these same 5 man instances over and over is beyond sickening at this point, and many players are in the same boat. The trick is, we have to cater to EVERYONE - people who want to see high level content and people who just want the regular everyday instances. In the end, we all want to do this with our friends and family or we wouldn't be here - we all want the same thing, to play the game, have fun, and do it in a casual environment just like we have right now. But what happens when it is no longer fun?

In the great scheme of things we'll just see what happens. You're right in that BC will change a lot of that, and I hope for the better!! Especially since uber elite raiders will no longer be top of the food chain, with the raid cap at 25 :) They'll just get there faster, and that's perfectly fine by me. I just want to SEE the good stuff that is out there.

I played since the game was released but I took a pretty big break in there and did most of the 1-50 content solo. I don't think I did a single instance except BFD before I was 50.

Much I enjoy when we get a big group together to go do ZG or AQ20 my lifestyle just isn't a set schedule. My RL plans, be they social or work change on a daily basis. It will be fantastic when the hour or so instances are available because sometimes I don't know I have 3 hours to play until I'm playing.

Oh and by the way, I love grouping with the people in this guild.

Ditto what Sapphyre said. There is still a lot I want to see in this game like AQ, MC etc. I would like to see them before they become obsolete. I wouldn't mind having three 60's by then either. There are still drops in the usual places: Strath, Scholo, Dire Maul, BRS, and ZG, that I could use. I am sorry that zg has failed in the past. My schedule is pretty fixed. I just can't do Sunday nights or Thursday nights and I usually miss the first and 4th Saturdays of each month.
I can do Sunday afternoons, Monday evenings and Friday nights for sure. I will have more free time around the holidays but not Veterans' Day weekend.

I know, Jam. I was more responding to Widge's statement that a guild has to move forward or else it moves backwards than I was to anyone's expressed frustration about the ZG and AQ runs being cancelled.

I love ZG (I'm less fond of AQ, although I've only seen the first two boss fights), and I feel kind of bad that I've had other things going on during the overhwelming majority of the ZG runs. Including the upcoming one.
