Yeah...it was very cool of you guys to do this. What a nice present!
I think a lot of people don't immediately recognize that just because you're okay with being lax about privacy doesn't mean everyone else is. Moreover, each person has to make the decision individually as to where their privacy boundaries lie. I wouldn't want to be recorded without permission. I wouldn't want the video of me playing Scrooge in the sixth grade play to end up on YouTube without knowing about it. I wouldn't want someone to be able to punch my phone number into Google and get a map to my house.
Some people don't care as much about things like that. Some do. And the thing about the internet is, once a piece of information goes out, you have no control over it. You can hope that people will be nice and not record it and put it somewhere public for all the world to see, but that doesn't always work out. If someone downloads a recording, it doesn't matter if that recording is later edited to remove sensitive private information: the people who have the original can still copy and share that. If I give out my address even once, it can become public knowledge in a heartbeat.
Not everybody feels the same way. And that's cool. Just bear in mind that there's only one person who should get to decide how much of their private life to expose.

Well, we can choose to live in a world of paranoia... or we can drink! DRINK AND BE MERRY while our identities are stolen!

Well said, Stranger. I think the important thing here is that everyone knows what happened, what mistakes were made, and how to avoid scaring anyone in the future. I was involved in it from the beginning, and I am sure everyone knows that no one involved had any malicious intent. Next time we'll keep it to the volunteers, and then everyone can enjoy it. :)

Given that Christmas is coming up... I'd like to repost this song. I know some people didn't like that they were recorded without permission. If you want to be edited out, please send me a PM and I'll have Fox edit you out. Then I want this song posted again! Please? Pretty please? With sugar and spice on top?
Can I veto?
