Besides, looking at your list of toons, and having run an instance or two with you, you are anything but a noob.
BUT FOXFYR CALLD ME A NOOB!!!!!!111 OMG I AM CRYNG RIGT NAOW!!!!!!111 I AM EMO RIGHTT NAO!!!!!!111 /wrist /wrist /wrist h8 u fox sob sob *cry* u will r3gret that!!!!!1 o how sorry u wil b!!! U WILL RU TEH DAEYZ!!!!
To be candid, I would consider myself a noob 70. We can probably all agree (to one degree or another) that getting to 70 is only half the game. A whole new game, with different objectives, opens up after that.
Although I disagree that getting to 70 is only the halfway point, I totally agree with you about the post-70 game being a whole different experience. And frankly, I would rather see more ways to get honored rep be added to the game than see heroics 'dumbed down'. If you look at it, the faction that has the most options for rep gain is Netherwing...and it's the easiest to raise (once you get past that pesky 5k gold entrance fee). You don't have to run an instance over and over to raise it; you can just rock some dailies. Consortium gives you two non-instance options, but it's just two, and both are a boring grind. Still, it is an option, and there are also quests. You can do an Honor Hold daily. And so on. Give us more of those. Let us increase our rep through means other than running the same instances over and over, and maybe it won't be as much of a problem.
Of course, I see that there's the potential for the same issue: if you raise your rep through solo quests, you're not learning the skills that you'll need in heroics, and you won't have the gear you'd have gotten in instances that will help you in heroics. Okay, true. But I still believe it's a better solution than simply dropping the requirement to honored.
That said, I in no way believe that dropping the requirement to honored is a terrible thing for the game. Yes, there may be better ways, but there are a lot of people in this guild who are great examples of excellent players that simply don't have time or inclination to rep-grind. You can't rep-grind solo, and many of us either aren't on at convenient times or play from work or whatever. They'd probably handle a heroic just fine...but unless something changes, they may never get to find out. And that's a shame.

When I was trying to get my Shadowcraft set I was running UBRS 3 or 4 times a week and getting nothing more than some gold and a chance at the Tunic. I knew that place inside and out and had everything from it but one drop.
Now... grinding the same instances for that one drop also gives you rep, which in turn gives you rewards and access to the same instance on harder levels with better drops.
I know that they can't please everyone all the time... but I think that in this case they have pleased quite a few people by adding reps to the instances. I mean, a lot of people were gonna run them ad infinitem anyway right?
I am glad that I won't have to get to revered with Zealot to do Heroics... but I doubt I'll do very well in them until I have at least one rep at Revered anyway.
Everyone on this thread is right methinks :)
Oh... and if I didn't say that "noob" comment I bet someone else would have ;) (Not cause you are.... just cause it seemed like the right thing to do)
