Yeah, I mean if they already have a lot of friends in the guild, we can say that only ONE of those friends counts as far as the rep.

Yeah, I mean if they already have a lot of friends in the guild, we can say that only ONE of those friends counts as far as the rep.

I kind of assumed this would be the case. It would be unfair if the "rep" is gained with 3 people who already know the applicant.

Well I dunno. I have a healthy abhorring for anyone who exists, or has existed, in one way or another. Friendship to me just means that I can say mean shit about you and we -both- laugh after I'm done. ..

Or.. Magical rainbows and unicorns that gallop across them shitting happy feelings down unto unsuspecting victims below... One of the two.

I find that if the 3 guildies are levelheaded and fair enough, (as if we had any of those in VS) it shouldn't be too big a deal if they knew the person beforehand.

FYI, I'm totally going to do this. I hope it isn't a dealbreaker. :D

You'll notice a few of the things in there refer to my lesser qualities as well :)

Stranger - We haven't taken the process out of the guild's hands by adding in the 3 rep thing. If the person achieves hated with any guildie, rest assured that we will be thinking twice about letting them stay regardless of how many "friendly" reps they achieved. It's going to take a little time to see how it all works.

As for why we changed it...

A) We were bored with it and wanted to take out some of the old questions that are no longer relevant.
B) We thought we needed to shorten it a bit and make it less repetitive,
C) We wanted to stress certain things to the applicant in case they missed our spiel about what we're about.
D) We wanted to make it a little "funner" so the applicant gets the point that we are looking for some "fun" answers out of them.

I think enough of you have expressed interest in seeing a few more typed answers so I think maybe we will allow the applicant to add their own "multiple choice" answer at the end of each one. And maybe we'll think about rewording the essay questions to add some humour. Will that resolve most of the issues that people are having with the app?

Application Essay Question

Hey All,

We're having some trouble agreeing on a 4th "off the wall" essay question and we were hoping to get your input/ideas/suggestions. Some of the ones we've thought up so far:

-- If you could be any fictional character (ANY!) who would you be and why? Yes, Edgar Frog is a very good choice.
-- The most important invention of all time is?
-- Tell us a joke.

If you can come up with better, please fire away. We're looking for something to bring out personality as much as possible and be fun.

I can only assume you're saying that because you're parents wouldn't let you see it when it came out.

I remember where I was the first time I saw the trailer for Lost Boys. It may be one of my favorite movies of all time.

Also rated as one of the most unintentially gay movies of all time, coincidence?

Editor's note: I should point out here that I strictly mean homosexual and not gay in a negative sense.

Seriously. You couldn't TOUCH that movie when I was a 5th grader. I still want to be Jami Gertz.

Vampires that worshipped Jim Morrison...that has CAKE written all over it.

Perhaps a few pirates and ninjas kicking each others asses and you have the BEST MOVIE EVAR.

It was also pretty obvious who had the slightly better acting chops in that movie when you compared the Coreys.

Poor old goofy-faced Haim never stood a chance.

Fast-forward to the sequel and I have no comment.

Yeah, Feldman sure did rise up and become a landmark of the acting community. :D
