LONG LIVE HEAD STARTS! Mal, I swear I'm gonna come to Texas and let loose 100 honeybadgers in your front lawn. Do you know that auto correct changed "easier" to "Clearasil?"
I'd give you a beer while they have their way. That's how nice I am. You should come some time and see how droll I really aren't.

Out of the closet now I see.
I played an ogre monk...not a brawler...a monk...the faction work was almost as tiresome as when my human monk in EQ could walk around Cabilis with impunity.
I was in a guild called Sword of Fate (eq1) on Prexus...I believe they are still active.

EQ was my first MMO and I LOVED it. I also hated it when I played for 2 hours, died, lost all my experience and had to corpse run for the next 30 minutes then go to bed fuming. I don't know that any game can match the feelings that game evoked. Frankly, I think the people that stuck with EQ and never left are the smartest and happiest MMO players on the planet.

Pirates of the Burning Sea? Or you just funnin'?
Pirate101 from the makers of Wizard101 is definitely worth a look and a couple of hours of your time. I think if my kids ever got into it that I'd play.
I thought SWTOR was the grand prize for you?
I couldn't even get through one whole story line. I had WAY too many alts. Got altitis early, tried to focus on my Sorceror but never could get her beyond 40. By that time I had discovered TERA and it was hard to go from TERA's combat system back to SWTOR.
When did you try Minecraft last? It's probably better than you remember if it was a couple of years ago.
Ha! Nah, it's the view and the movement. It literally makes me ill to play games like that.

Oddly enough...the original DOOM did that to me...nothing else...just DOOM.

I've been on a pretty long hiatus from WoW now to catch up on some other games. There is a strong possibility that I will give FFXIV: ARR the old college try since I've always loved the FF universe and it's at least looking better than before. I'd love to play with you VSers if any of you get in on it. In the meantime, I'm InfiniteStrife on Steam if anyone wants to chat/play.

I played FFXI way back when and it was enjoyable. Frustrating, yet enjoyable mostly. When you weren't spamming for the one class you needed in your group, or the fact that you couldn't solo anything past lvl 15, and the language barrier... but again, that was way back when (maybe one expansion was out then?).
In short, I'd be curious about another FF game too.
Steam name is Lynala. I usually have the client up but haven't been playing too many games yet. Age of Empires II HD has caught my attention in it's pre-order however....

I played EQ2 for a while and I seem to remember enjoying it. Unfortunately the guys I know at Sony that played it were way ahead of me. I just signed in on the F2P and Still have my characters on Crushbone apparently.
I seem to remember enjoying crafting on that one as well.
What faction are you guys? If I decide to play on the F2P should I go with good or evil?

I don't know when you last played , however its really easy to level now.
Also for each level 85 you get a 20% bonus on your next toon (they stack)
It doesn't really matter what side your on evil or good
why not join us on Antonia Bayle Styg? :)

I used to have several toons on AB...including my ogre monk. AB is an RP server and some of those folks took their jobs seriously.

Nah..
I never joined a group that was role playing. They are guilds for that.
The guild that I am in is not into role playing

I'd just like to say that the guild that Twist (and I to a lesser extent) belong to on EQ2 has the most tricked out, kick ass guild hall in the history of ever.
That is all. :)

Ok, Stieg is level 10 on AB. Look me up.
Amazingly enough, all of my toons are still there. I have an issue with a memory leak.
I found my old room...nothing is there anymore.
OMFG...I downloaded free EQ for giggles. The original Pilsner is still there 14 years later. FBSS, Journeyman Boots, everything.
I popped into the great divide in Vel...the oddest thing happened, I saw many giants and I was afraid to die. That is something I have never felt in WoW; it felt good.

Honestly I liked EQ but it was before the MMO bug really got me. I wish any game now felt the way those games did back them.

I found Thurgadin after running around like a fool for thirty minutes. I proceeded to the bank and all of my loot was there including my fabled tranquil staff.
WoW is Kate Upton...EQ is Lindsay Lohan on a week long bender. Both have their appeal.

I envy you. My originals are long gone, sold to someone in a vain attempt to save my soul, only to buy another client copy and start all over and have lost that account info also long ago.

All this EQ talk got me thinking: I have been playing Planetside2 pretty casually since Beta, but as part of a group that is very large and very active in it. Apparently SOE is using PS2 as a testbed for the EQ3 engine and occasionally artifacts can be found in buried in the game files after a patch that are decidedly un-planetside (like swords and hammers, for instance). Understanding that EQ3 is still very early in development (since 2009 they've scrapped it twice and are on try 3 now) and no dates have even been rumoured, is that something that we should consider?

That explains why Greg was suddenly and mysteriously moved from working on EQ2 to PS2. Are you inquiring about EQ2, EQ3 or PS2?

Yes. And I am going to putz around with a station pass for EQ, EQ2, and a few other games.
Well I threw 20 bucks at sony for their station pass. EQ is hard, man.
