I haven't played with it enough. The felguard is a badass pet though. After being 20/0/31 spec'd for a while, I'm missing the reduced cast time for shadow bolt, soul burn, and conflag.
That being said, if you ever played a xx/31/xx Warlock in the past, it's kind of like that, but on steroids. The survivability is ridiculous, plus sacing a felguard gives you a 10% damage bonus plus 2% mana recovery every 6 seconds (if memory serves). So besides ALL of the other +damage you get in the demonolgy tree, if you don't neet a pet, you can get that.
I farmed in EPL briefly last night. While mana was never really a problem for me when I was MD spec'd, it sure as hell isn't a problem now for either me or my pet. I forget the name of the talent, but only 1 point in it restores 33% of the mana I either life tap or mana drain. It was ridiculously easy to have my felguard have enough mana to charge, cleave, and taunt all the time.

Oh, meant to add:
I can see with 41/42 points in demonology and another 20 points or so in either of the other trees this spec being RIDICULOUS in terms of dps and survivability.
But, the other two trees so so freaking sexy that I need to try them out as well before I settle on anything.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I'm looking at right now. I'll be logging on later tonight to finally spend those talent points. Then I'll have to completely redo my action bars and such, since I've never gone heavily into the Demonology tree before.

I didn't have a chance to really play with the 41 points in Destruction last night; I threw off a Shadowfury just to see what it looks like (hint: FREAKIN SWEET).
However, I could not really get a feel for what I was doing because I MISS DISCORD BARS TOO MUCH, I spent too much time looking for where I put Immolate.
Shadow and Flame is super-awesome, though.
NOT MANA-EFFICIENT IN ANY WAY. I am basically a second-rate mage, with an adorable imp-pet.

So I haven't figured out if these are good choices or not yet... but I have respecced.
Zealot is now an adorable Moonkin since so many other droods go feral and Fox looks a little something like this.
I haven't decided if I'm happy with it or not yet and I'm reasonably sure it isn't going to help my habit of lying down before a fight is over but we shall see.
That 41 talent skill is pretty sweet though!

Jakiera has gone all the way down to the 41 point Mangle in Feral with the last 10 points into Restoration. She's now a melee monster. Healing should be relatively the same as before othe than not having Natures Swiftness and the Improved Rejuvenation.
Ranulf has gone all the way down to the 41 point Silencing Shot in MArskmen and the rest into Beastmastery. Gained exactly 13.2 DPS with the pet active and some nice abilities.

I have no idea how to spec this time. Does this layout look useful for warriors? http://www.wowhead.com/?talent-bc=LAGLdhbogIddoZ0vt

Ok, I logged in tonight and respec'ed. I am now 10/41/0. This is the first time ever I have had no Destruction. Serious learning curve coming up...
Too bad I couldn't go train my new Felguard, because there were no NPC's anywhere to be found on our server tonight.

Felguard FTW!!! Well, my only test was in Elwynn Forest, but I set him on aggressive and let him go. I couldn't even keep track of him, 'cause he was running everywhere killing things. He hits for 10-20 times more damage than a VW can do. Too bad his health is extremely lower than my VW (like 1500 worse). I'll be doing more testing over the next few days, then post more.
p.s. Since I'm the new Overlork, I will also be posting something new for all VS Warlocks.

Cilde, when you hit level 70, that build looks fine. Remember to watch the level. You'll only be able to spend 51 points at level 60. Hopefully the warrior nerfs will get corrected or at least acknowledged by Blue before the expansion. I would however put 3 points into Tactical Mastery. This will allow you to keep 15 rage when you change stances. Might not sound too important, but trust me, it is.
Here is my current build on live.

I went ahead and chose the same spec as I had before, except after I whore myself about a bit for money I'm going to respec again. I don't know if I'll choose the same path or a different one, but I'm getting rid of Rapid Killing ... since it doesn't stack with my Striker's bonus (my Rapid Fire is ALREADY on a 3 instead of 5 min cooldown).
I might just put on a full Dragonstalker suit and go all in to Marks. I don't knoow.

I am totally loving my all Beast Mastery hunter.
Last night I took down a green elite. Now, I could do this before. But not without healing my pet a couple of times. Especially against those elite guys in Un'Goro (not the devilsaurs, the other elite guys. The ones near the hot springs). This time I didn't have to heal Kehaar once! NOT ONCE!! Kehaar's become way way waaaaaayyy more resilient.
I just want to take advantage of this before Blizzard finds out they made a mistake and nerfs me!

I too went down the BM tree. Put 3 into Hawkeye and 5 into lethal shots. Everything else into BM... a) FAST. Like, OMG fast. b) Flappers gets BIG! his first hit on a poor little bear in Dun Morogh critted for 500. While not all that much, that's just my pet! I'm looking forward to being able to go out somewhere with real mobs and test speed buffs with IAotH and Rapid Fire.
I miss aimed shot and true shot aura, so I may switch at some point, but so far this is fun :)

Thanks, Rin. Good to know! :)
All Beastmastery, eh? I have not had a chance to play much this week (too... many... birthday... celebrations!!) But I still think I'm going to go with Marksman. I'll let you know how I like it sometime this weekend, I hope!!

For those Warlocks who spec'ed in Demonology - what do you think? I went to EPL tonight to give it a whirl. Although the Felguard has a lot less health than the VW, it wasn't much of a problem. He does burn through mana quickly when he's got multiple mobs on him, but the nice thing is that Life Tap also adds mana to your pet. I then went to Shadowfang Keep to see what would happen. Okay, low level for a 60, but it was a test dammit! I set the Felguard on aggressive and let him go. All I had to do was an occassional Life Tap to restore his mana. Other than that, I just watched. I love the Felguard, but still not sure if I'm going to keep this spec.

I was 0/21/30 ... so the cookie cutter survival build. Went the same route, but obviously with some changes since they moved everything around--but it's the same basic stuff. I dunno about Rapid Killing still. It's real nice in PvP, but it's like Spirit Tap--it only procs when you get the KB, and tho the new Arc shot is real nice for that, it's chancy in a raid situation AND the fact that I get no Rapid Fire bonus pisses me off. Sigh.
