It is pretty out of line to try to tell a bunch of strangers that you likely won't meet again how they should behave XD;

As far as her playing a warlock/priest/etc., I know a lot of people who identify as Christian that are into ostensibly occult interests. Generally the explanation is that there's a difference between fantasy and actual life (i.e., she has made no REAL pacts with demons), or, if you're a Catholic, you pretty much just incorporate voodoo into the religion XD

Ah, but usually those Christian that have an interest in the occult will not be Bible Thumpers that get offended easily.

In my culture, all swear words have something to do with religion. Its very hard to find someone that not only does not swear.. but also gets offended when someone does.

IMO, this lifer might just act offended because she either likes attention, or likes to create drama.

Not so much in my experience Ib XD Really, it's very easy for people to draw lines between beliefs for certain things and then blur them for others.

Now it is time for related anecdote fun!
I also have a friend who was brought up in a very religious household but disagrees with the majority of the Bible's tenets. However, because the religion is so ingrained in her (she can literally recite tons of passages by heart) she almost NEVER swears in the typical way. Recently we went out to the parking lot at our university and found out that some jackass had backed into her car and knocked off the cover for one of her brake lights. She seethed for a moment and then let loose with something like "Stars take this knave!" etc.

I'm not making this up.

The most important thing to remember when the lifers come over is that they are our guests, and we should treat them as such. So no wedgies.

I make my guests take their shoes off and get them drunk. So... that's kind of a relative statement, Gleja. ;)

Yeeeeeeeeah....if I had a guest try and tell me what I could and couldn't say in my own home (and I am in my own home when I'm typing on my own computer while playing a game I'm paying for with my own money), I think I'd be politely thanking her for a pleasant evening and suggesting we call it a night.

I get your point. I really do. We've all got the same goal, and it behooves us to play nice with one another, work together, accept each other's differences, and act like adults. But really and truly, my own guildmates don't get to tell me what to say and what not to say, and some total stranger wouldn't, either.

Only way I wouldn't say 'lady get a grip' is if someone said TO HER 'YOUR GOD IS SHITTY, GOD DAMN YOUR SHITTY GOD AND HIS BITCH JESUS'. She could feel totally justified in being offended at something like that.

I would laugh though. Truly and painfully, laugh till I split my pants again.
