I would shy away from a name too close to yours, unless you're really fond of it (the baby name, not yours). Just my two cents worth. My wife and first daughter's names both start with "S" and that's enough for people to get them confused!

I confuse my son with my daughters...so the name thing will be a mute point after a while.

I love the name Brinn! I'm glad you're doing well, even if you can't sit in your chair to play WoW...you'll be back soon enough. (Like during those long nights when the baby just won't sleep, and you're ready to cry, but instead turn to killing crap in WoW.)

I do that all the time as well. In fact I actually merged their names tonight while I was preoccupied. As for similar sounding names, my name is absolutely nothing at all like my daughter's and people still get us confused, in fact they add my cousin in the mix, and her name is completely different than both of ours.

I recommend you go with what you like, and what you think the baby will be able to live with in the high school years. I was originally going to name my daughter Nikki, not Nicole, or Nicollette, just Nikki. I began wondering though, if she became a doctor, or a lawyer, or a CEO, would she really want to be addressed as Nikki. So I named her Erin Nicole, and just used Nikki as her nickname, and it turned out to be a wise choice, since she hates anyone who isn't family calling her that now.

Also, my son's name is Aidan, and I didn't want it spelled that way because I wanted the traditional gaelic spelling, which was Aedan, or Aodhan. Suffice it to say, my family strong armed me into spelling it the normal way, and now, as far as I know, he will be in the same grade as 2 other Aidans, 4 Aidens, an Aidin, an Aidon, and an Ayden. I should have gone with my gut and spelled it at least a little different. But he has to middle names to choose from if it gets too crazy, so it might not be that bad.

Congratz on your little Bean! Stay as comfy as you can, or use this as an opportunity to weasle out a nice laptop :D

Okay, I'm pretty sure I'm not responsible for that one.

The only thing I don't get is the calves.

Why are those his only muscles?

I was wondering that too.

Both names have an important meaning for me. Brinn is from my two grandmothers, Bella and Beryl. Since they're both still alive (in their 90's!) I couldn't pick one or the other. So I grabbed the B and came up with Brinn. I also have a gold necklace given to me by my Bubbee that has a B on it and I thought I could pass it down to her.

Ida was the name of my great aunt, my Bubbee's sister. She's the only great aunt that I really remember. I love her name and she happened to be a very fun loving person (the only non miserable person in my Bubbee's family actually!).

I really like both names and I've decided to see which one fits Baby Bean when she's born.

I thought I would post a little update.

I saw my doctor yesterday and I'm not dilated. Not even an inch. So, on Monday I go for an ultrasound. If my amniotic fluid is low then I'm assuming that they'll induce me on the spot, otherwise I wait till I either give birth or Friday rolls around and they induce me then.

I'm kinda hoping to wait till Friday. Even though some of those induction methods sound less then fun, Friday is when my sister comes home from Vancouver. I'd really like her to be in town for the birth of her niece.

That's where things stand with baby Bean and I. It looks like either way I got my wish for a June baby. Yay!

I'll let you guys know if anything else happens.

HUGS! Oriole.

Wow O! I can't believe it's already time for baby Bean to arrive, it seems like you just announced you were preggers. I hope you have a great week, get lots of rest (lots and lots and lots) and there better be pictures. Of the end result actuallly, we don't need to see the during shots...
