OMG that is a great link! At first I was almost rolling on the floor laughing, and as I read more, it all made more and more sense. And then I was on the floor laughing again!
Pretendy Fun Time Game!
EDIT: I thought it was so funny because it's so true. I am currently passing that link on to all my loved ones who have a computer...which is everyone I know. Well, except for my crazy aunt who is still amazed that a switch on the wall can turn on a light...

It is a pretendy fun time game. Thanks for the link!
However, just to be a killjoy, I would like to add that any time you do something with a group you need to take their needs into account. Law and Order's a great show (I once sat next to Jerry Orbach at a restaurant. it was sweet), but there may be 4, 19 or 39 people who have altered their schedules to play this pretendy fun time game with you and are now wondering where you are.
So relax, have fun, enjoy. Just remember the people on the other end of the ethernet cable.

And on the same note, don't get mad that we replaced you on the raid because Law and Order went over three minutes past start time. :)

Oh yeah. I wasn't trying to suggest that responsibilities don't matter -- more suggesting not to take it personally or get Deeply Wounded because people are all up in arms over something on the Pretendy Fun Time Game, even if it's because you've flaked out on something.
Extrapolating from there: we've all seen people who take on positions of responsibility in a game -- guild leadership, for instance (and here I'm not talking about Killian or anyone in this guild; I'm actually referring to an experience from my Everquest days, and many similar experiences) -- because they care about people and like the game and want to make a positive difference, but only find that people's demands and expectations and disagreements wear them down until it's a chore, not a fun hobby. Nobody wants to see that happen to anyone...and it's a good thing to keep perspective if you can realize things are getting to you and remind yourself one thing: Pretendy Fun Time Game.
We're all friends. Your buddies filled your slot so they could progress with their Pretendy Fun Time Game without you because you weren't online when the Fun Time was starting? Oh well. Should've been there. Don't get all worked up about it. Pretendy Fun Time Game. It doesn't mean they hate you. Pretendy Fun Time Game.

That's all well and good, but I hate, with a deep passionate loathing, everyone who's ever beaten me out on a roll for a blue since I was 40. I'VE KEPT LISTS, YOU PEOPLE.
Aside from that, happy pretendy fun time game yaye! SLAUGHTERING DEVILSAURS = HOPSCOTCH.

Added some clarity to looting rules in Killian's post above. And since there are a bunch of new people, thought I'd give this a bump anyway.

Updated with some details added to the application thread.

I just had to post that the initial part of this thread was started two years ago to the day. Kind of feel like walking down the street in London and saying "Damn, look at all these OLD people!"

A note about Kara loot since it was brought up.
www.wow-loot.com is a great site for loot and seeing what drops you're hoping for. It lists classes as Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary when it comes to who should get it. These ratings are accurate in that they do describe who would benifit the raid best by using the item. However that secondary class may not have any better item that we as a guild have access to so far. We allow any person that can use the upgrade to roll on it. And any hybrid that may be able to use something if they respec, will always get the item if it means we'll just end up sharding it.
That being said, these rules work because the people in this guild are so giving and considerate. I've seen several drops that almost turned into fights of "It's a bigger upgrade for you, you should have it." Don't be afraid to roll on something you want even if sites like wow-loot say that another class deserves it more. Unless it's a defence sword and you're a hunter. Just use some common sense and we'll all get through this together! :)

I just thought I should bump this thread a little for all raid-attendees and raid-leaders, so they remember what the Victorious Secret is.

It's a Monkey, we believe in EVILUTION in this house missy.
That is the picture from Halloween before last, it was already sized for an icon so I was being lazy and just grabbed it.

Yep, and I would do it again.
(I also know he is listed as a he, but he has a girl name.)
(No offense.)
(Really.)
(It looks like Karen.)

It's okay. Kae can be a Missy sometimes.
I've called him worse.

To be honest I am not really that sorry, but I felt it was appropriate to pretend to be sorry.
