Of course you know certain sceptics note that perhaps 10,000 of the nations's most elite highway patrolmen are out there waiting for us after we start, but let's stay positively: Think of the fact that there's not one state in the 50 that has the death penalty for speeding... although I'm not so sure about Ohio.

When I used to drive to Dallas I'd go from Albany to Cleveland and then down to Nashville and then head west to Dallas. Ususally took just over 26 hrs. When I'd take the southern route through Jersey to Virginia and then west it would take alot longer.

If he's going down the Garden State Parkway, STOP. TURN BACK. DON'T DO IT.
I used to drive back to Philly from Boston all the time when I lived up in MA. The Garden State Parkway was the worst leg of the trip because of all of the 0.35$ toll booths you have to pass through near NY.
During the Summer, the Parkway is PACKED.

Once you realize all of history revolves around alcohol, it makes things so much easier. (Want to build some pyramids? Keep your workers happy and fit by giving them free beer. Want to keep your nice Roman empire? Stop honouring Dionysis so much. Winston Churchill: witty even while drunk - Adolf Hitler: couldn't hold his liquor.) I rest my case.
It's just one more reason VS will eventually rule the WoW world. (Or at least Eitrigg.)

West Virginia has a stretch of road that is nothing but tolls and tiny, little, rural roads that are supposed to be highways. We dumped about $8 bucks in them before we finally got out of the state.

I got lost on the turnpike when I was up there. By the time I finally figured out where I needed to go, I had no more money and the toll booth guy recognized me, cause I had been at his station 6 times that night, so he let me through for free.

OK, so here is my take on this trip...
Look at a way to get over to 81 either in NY state or in Pennsylvania. You can then take (no tolls from this point) 81 all the way to Knoxville, Tn and 40. On 40 the Don can make his jump onto 75 to Chattanooga or stay on 40 all the way to Memphis and more.
My only dread on this drive is you will think Vergina will never end :) But pure 4+ lane travel with not much traffic.

Going that route has you in VA for 30 years or some such... I HATE that drive... but it's the best way to go if you are taking the southern route IMHO.

Hey Killian - If you don't have a handgun with you, Texas will provide one for you upon entering their state! ... isn't that the law? All citizens must carry a handgun at all times?
