As you guys start booking flights, please post dates/times and arrival city (Toronto/Buffalo) so we can arrange carpooling. I will keep updating first post with details as they flood in.

Thanks!

I'm holding two tickets- one arriving into Buffalo late on Thursday night (930) and the other flying into Toronto on Friday morning. If nobody wants to wait in Buffalo that late for my ass to carpool, I'll just fly into Toronto Friday morning.

Almost enough for a 25-man. Do we need to rent a conference room at the Westin on Sunday night for a LAN party? hehe.

Actually, playing WoW is probably going to be last thing I want to do that weekend.

When do we get the itinerary and event synch matrix?

As of now I have permission to go. ;)

Not sure if I'm flying or driving. It's only a 9 hour drive (following posted speed limits), so it's totally drivable in about 7 or 8. That is only about $160 in gas round trip, much more reasonable then flying.

Put me down as coming... but as homeless for now. I'll figure that out as I go along. If the glaciers have moved out by then I may just bring some gear and go camping (provided there is somewhere to camp close enough). If anyone has a suite with a spare couch for rent, let me know!

I have relatives in Chicago and have done the drive many many times. It's totally doable in 7 hours if you avoid rush hour at both ends.

A few things:

Just a reminder to let me know when you are arriving and leaving. There are a few things I would like to schedule and it would be helpful to know when everyone will be around. I will keep updating the first post with details as I get them.

When figuring out your arrival into Toronto, please keep in mind we have 2 airports: one is on an island downtown but I don't think it has any international flights... the other -- the international airport -- is in a suburb of Toronto and transportation to downtown is not very easy. Cabs are about $50 to downtown so if a bunch of you arrive together, you could split one at a reasonable cost. I'm sure there are buses but I don't know much about their schedules. If you are arriving into Toronto International airport and would like me to research options for you to get to the city, please send me a PM. I'd offer to come get you all but (a) I will likely be busy hosting and/or cooking tacos and (b) I do not have a car!

I will be acquiring Wonderland tickets for those that are joining us ... I believe I can get them for $35 (regular price is $53). Let me know if you are in for this craziness!

If there is anything else you would like to do while in Toronto, please let me know. I can get discounted tickets to just about anything you want. But I do need some notice.

Also... if you are thinking of coming but just don't have the funds to make it happen, send me a PM and we'll try to work out some affordable accomodations.

I'm in for wonderland, just go to with everyone else really.. don't plan on getting on many rides.

I still haven't booked the flight yet but my passport is under construction so I will be doing that within the next couple days. I think the only option I have for flight is YYZ. I assume that is the international one you are talking about.

I'll post actual times once I have them. I don't plan on renting a car, no need for it and I will likely be in some state of inebriation for the entire trip. Speaking of which, is there a liquor store near you?

Um... I live next to the distribution centre. Like, I mean, I can see it from my window right now as I type this. But this is Ontario, where you can only get booze at an LCBO -- so you will have to hit it during operating hours:

Sunday: 12:00 - 17:00
Monday: 10:00 - 20:00
Tuesday: 10:00 - 20:00
Wednesday: 10:00 - 20:00
Thursday: 10:00 - 21:00
Friday: 10:00 - 21:00
Saturday: 09:00 - 20:00

Edit: If you are staying at the Novotel, there is another LCBO that might even be closer to there. I will provide maps with key places closer to the date. I'll be sure to include LCBO locations all over town. :D

Updated the first post on this thread to reflect all the information I have been feeding y'all. Will keep adding to it so keep checking back there. And please feel free to ask questions... you're probably not the only one wondering whatever it is you are wondering.

I will be attending this event! I've purchased my ticket and hotel, so there ain't no backing down now. I'll be staying in the Harbor Castle across the street, traitor to my employer that I am.

I don't have a car, but like Sapph if we need to rent one for the day to get to Wonderland I can do that. Done it before and drove all the way from Ottawa!

I will be arriving on Thursday around 4 pm. Unfortunately I do have to fly through Chicago, where I have been trapped before. As have many, and as some of you know I-yie am the Rain King. So I will hope for simple blattery rain. YAY TORONTO. (It almost sounds like Totoro.)

Delays? At O'Hare? Surely you jest! ;)

I'll have my car for this little adventure... so I'll be able to taxi people around if need be. It's a little sports coupe (if you can call a Saturn SC2 a "sports coupe"), so I can only fit one other normal sized person in front and two midgets in back.

As of now my plans are to arrive some time Friday and leave Monday. I'm still homeless, but I'll work on that. Also... I'm down for some roller coaster action. Haven't met one yet I won't go on.

Any other VSers golf? Any reason I should bring my clubs? Maybe we can get a round in on Sunday or early Monday morning. As a warning... I'm a 20-22 handicapper, so if you're a decent golfer you'll get plenty of laughs golfing with me.

/three putt bogeys FTW
