oh, how i miss my hometown...
Cleveland lighthouse encased in ice
Wow. When we were in Atlanta last weekend we noticed a lot of fountains downtown still had running water... except they were half frozen! Don't people know they have to drain things like that before winter??

How is that possible? Do they stop using the building in the winter? I'd think the ambient heat from the buildings indoor heating would keep this from happening? That's pretty amazing!
I posted this on FB too and a friend posted another video about it explaining the history of the lighthouse. Apparently, it became automated in the 60s, so no people work there anymore and it became solar in the last decade, so you can see the light is still shining under all that ice! Even my friend in the UK saw a news clip on the BBC about it. Really beautiful but really crazy!
Oh, and Sapphyre, the south def doesn't know how to prep for winter. My fam in Florida says the town shuts down when it gets super cold. And if it snows they have no way to salt it or plow it. Really funny.

What is this "winter"? Is that when it gets down to 60 degrees?

That is hilarious!! I have been to Sharm... it's really nice there. I didn't know they had sharks though! Good thing all I did was snorkle near the shore.
