Thanks to some recent run ins with Blizzard Account Management, I regret to inform you all the accounts for Athiena and Selestria have been banned, and we shall not see their likes again. In order to explain what happened, I need to give all of you a little background information.

For those of you who have played with Athiena or read through his application, you will notice that he talked about leveling a paladin over on another server. Towards the end of last summer his fiancee was giving him a hard time about WoW and got him to get rid of his account. He decided to put it up on eBay and got scammed. He lost the account and the person charged back so he did not even get the money.

About 2 months later, his fiancee broke up with him, and he came out to visit me over Christmas. He was completely bummed and was bored. I spent some time trying to convince him to come play WoW and come over to Eitrigg and play with me, but the thought of leveling a new character made him a little queasy. So being it was Christmas I told him I would buy him a character. I went over to ToonStorm and found a nice rogue for him, which many of you have come to know as Athiena.

While I was browsing I confess I got a little intrigued in picking up a toon for myself to play as an alt. Khros and I had picked up playing quite a bit and he had so many alts, I thought it would be nice to have another toon to play with him - something I had never played before. So I snagged a mage which some of you knew as Selestria. I had never played one before - something that was evident to some of you (damn - where is that "Remove Curse" spell?) :)

As part of purchasing the accounts ToonStorm had us create new accounts with the names of the original toon owners. Sadly - those names were not ours. I expressed some concern over this to ToonStorm but they told me it would not be a problem. Call me naive - I bought it, hook, line and sinker.

So everything was going fine. I messed around with Selestria on the side, and Athiena had a blast playing his rogue. It's pretty funny - but WoW was incredibly therapeautic for him. It got him out of his shell a bit and helped him start goofing around with people. He was happier than I had seen him in months.

Then, about two weeks ago I set in motion some events that would screw everything up. While I was in Costa Rica, I VPNed in to my house. I had some stuff I wanted to get off my file server. While I was doing this I was also in WoW. After I got my files, I closed the VPN connection and this dropped the connection to WoW and so I reconnected. From Blizzard's point of view, what they saw was in a 5 minute span, I was connected from Atlanta, Georgia, and then from San Jose, Costa Rica. This tripped their auditing system and they banned the account with Selestria.

I sent them an email trying to explain the situation and they tried to get me to follow the account retreival procedures. Unfortunately this required me to provide ID for the account - something I could not do since it was registered to a different name (for purpose of transferring the character). So I resigned myself at that point that Selestria was lost.

I had so much fun playing her that I decided I wanted to level a new one. Thus, her twin sister Melestria was born. I am sure you have seen me on her a lot this past week and a half as I am trying to get her up to Outland as quickly as I can.

I thought all my troubles were over until last night. I got an email from Blizzard saying that they were suspending three accounts: Selestria's, Athiena's AND Melestria's. They suspected fraud on all three. They were wrong about Melestria's, and as of about 10 minutes ago, she was finally reactivated. However, Athiena and Selestria are not going to be recoverable.

Athiena is heartbroken at the loss, but he has had such a blast getting back into the game, that he WANTS to level up a new character. I got him set up on a new account today, and he is leveling a Dranei Shaman, named Perseous.

I can't tell you how much he is enjoying being back in WoW. He has played with many of you over past two months, long before getting into VS, and has been dying to get into the guild. You guys are a perfect fit for him. I am hopeful that you guys will allow him to remain in the guild and level his new character. But I wanted to make sure you all knew everything that had transpired, as I believe you all have a right to know.

I think we can all agree that shortcuts/exploits in this game suck and you can get so much more out of it if you just take the time to do things the slow way. I'm sorry to hear about his and your characters, though.

Everyone else? Don't buy toons or gold, PLEASE. Let's all suffer together and keep each other honest.

All gold exchanged for the services of our officers goes to me. And part of that goes to the guild. But I don't have to say what percentage, because I am the Madam and I do what I want.

And also, this isn't the first time one of our members has been banned for not playing by the rules.

Let that be a lesson to others that consider these options... Blizzard are pretty good about catching shit like this.

But we do understand, and appreciate you being honest about it!

He is definately excited about leveling the Shaman. Those guides are good - I will make sure he see them (and I will probably use them with Melestria a bit too :) )

I was really sad to hear about this. I enjoyed playing with "the nephew" and his rogue. But... his lil shammy coming right along.. so hopefully he will have some fun leveling that. They are very addictive and I think easy to play. I offer my assistance in whatever you need. That's help for your mage too, Dalwin.
