Note: I just realized how much freakin back story I did on this so if you want to just skip to the pic at the bottom go right ahead.

So I joined a Heroic Daily PUG that a healer I had grouped with before asked me to tank.

Just after the second boss, our Moonkin announced that he had been called in to work and had to leave in twenty minutes. Since I was tanking and marking, I wasn't paying really close attention to chat but a few minutes later I got the gist of what was going on:

-A hunter was up for replacing our Moonkin
-We should do it now since the Moonkin won't be able to stay until the next boss anyway
-Everyone seemed pretty happy

I said that we should finish the next group so that the Moonkin had a shot at the chest next to them and everyone agreed so off we went.

Moonkin left and then I started getting whispers left right and center. I had to stop for a minute and try to figure out what was going on cause something looked wierd.

One guy was asking me to give him lead for a second to invite the hunter and another guy was saying the hunter was ready outside. So I asked if we were talking about the same hunter.

Nope. The guy that whispered me asking for lead for a minute was doing so to invite a different hunter than the one the group already knew was joining us.

Since I still had group lead I invited the first hunter and appologized to the assmunch asking for lead to bring his own unannounced guildmate.

What follows is a pic that shows every whisper I had with said assmunch up until the end of the run. First before the 5th member joined us, then after we both had a chance to inspect her, and then after we had done a few more pulls.

Hehe, when you got to the part about it being a BM hunter I was thinking it was going to turn out to be Eulz... :)

Yup, maybe stuff like this does not happen often but I still hate pugs.

I liked "She is almost doubling you. But whatever."
Fox has good stories.

This is exactly why I haven't been to most of the higher level instances...if I don't know the people I am going with, I always end up with this kind of crap.

Mau had one group when we were just getting started who kicked him out because he needed, but he only needed cause he didn't want to look greedy...I had told him to. Tis was his first instance and he had told them that in the first place and he had asked if there was anything he should know before going in...they said, just follow and try to keep up...so he did, but on the first drop (a cloth item) he rolled need in a panic - they wouldn't respond to his question of "what do I do?" - and promptly got booted.

Too many creeps out there to bother with PUGs.:(

I agree that the looting rules and rolling is a learning experience. It took me awhile to understand the need/greed concept.

I'd rather solo a heroic than do a normal group with a PUG.

Really? I love PUGs.

However, I only do them when I either:

A) Do not particularly care about any of the loot;
or
B) Have shots for every time someone does something n00bish.

It also helps to have

C) Arolaide to heal and make snarky comments.

But going on PUGs has made me appreciate my own guild all the more, because we rarely if ever demand lead in order to bring in a punk hunter.

I think that's the attitude that has to go down to make a PUG fun; you have to understand going in that you might get lucky and have a good group, but you also have to be ready for it to be a hilarious disaster and get nothing out of it but hilarious stories.

Lauris had a run of very good PUGs back in the day - one that was even successful in downing Baron Riverdare back when it was difficult, without AoE. But of course she also had one where three members of the party went afk, and the tank charged in on Angerforge and then yelled "PRIEST!" when I didn't come in after him.

i haven't been bm spec for months

and my dps will ALWAYS be > pally tank :D

i tried to think of any bad pugs i've been on, but i can't honestly remember ever getting into an altercation from a pug. the worst happens is that the group doesn't materialize and we're all just like 'welp see you later.' and despite all that i've pvp'd, i've only had BG chat problems on a handful of occasions.

GUESS I'M JUST THAT NICE

I love PUGS the most when I am healing, no heals for you if you make me mad! I was in one and one member kept emoting that he was pooing and peeing on me. Don't get me wrong I can take a little but it was every moment when I was getting my mana back, couldn't understand why he got no heals....

Oh and then there was the group where they kept pissing me off, so I waited till we were at the final boss and then said I had to go, yeah childish I know but so were they I swear!!
