Now, I have to object...
I happen to work for a state agency.
My work laptop is a XPS1710...
A couple of my coworkers use Alienware laptops...
And we have several gaming rigs in the office. Probably about 6 of them actually...
My point being that sometimes gaming rigs just happen to be able to be good at handling other things too. Like large scale storage (e.i.: cheep server), or computer forensics...
