One bonus of moving is that my NEW COMPUTER is waiting for me in Virginia. Unfortunately, it will probably take 6 hours of patching to update WoW, and configuring my add-ons from scratch probably takes another 5-6 hours.
Is there a way I can just make a copy of the wow install w/addons I have on my current machine and load it on my new one?
The missing link will be getting an internet connection, but I would like to minimize my WoW downtime. Especially if I can get it up in that first week, I really have nothing to do until school starts on the 1st.

Yes, that's the beauty of WOW!
All you have to do is copy your C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft directory over to the new computer and BAM! you'll be up and running with all the same addons and options you had set on the previous computer.

Excellent. Too big for my thumb drive, though. Do they make fist drives? Agnes?

D'oh!
I assumed you'd need to reinstall it. I just grabbed the addons and WTF.

Failing copying everything over you can also speed up the patching process by dowloading full patches from places like Fileplanet.com it will save you the d/l part of the patch process which can be long.

16GB flash drive or you can just get an external hard drive.
edit: If your new computer has vista you are going to want to make a folder in c: called games and throw wow in there. It will work a lot better.
