After several hours of pain, suffering, arguing, and legendary repair bills, we conquered Heroic Magister's Terrace last night!
Group was:
- Pregor (T)
- Melestria (D)
- Kharsian (D)
- Perseous (D)
- Kharthis (H)
Let's use this thread to talk strategies, answer questions, give tips, etc.

You know how sometimes when you join a BG you get smacked with a premade from a PVP server all decked out in full T6?
That's what the Priestess is like.

I got past the second boss before my PUG imploded. Does it get a lot worse?

- First boss: Wasn't too bad.
- Second boss: Was difficult. We had to rotate DPS's on the sparks and include Melestria's water elemental as a DPSer.
- Third boss: Insane. Most of our time was spent here trying different strategies.
- Final boss: Really not that much harder than normal, just more hit points and hit much harder with the fireball. You just have to get good at avoiding the balls

OMG - this is SOOOOOO true!
So how hard was it?
The first fight was not bad. We had to do it twice, only because our hunter decided not to come in the room with the rest of us and got locked out :) The crystals were a little tougher to destroy. In fact, I think we missed them all, but we were able to tank through the enrage and DPS him down.
The second fight is definately harder. The Pure Energies spawn two at a time (starting about every 15% of his health that is reduced). You have to pace that fight so that you are doing enough DPS to bring the boss down but not bring out the energies too fast. We found that using pets/elementals/etc to tank a couple of the Pure Energies was helpful since on death they put the arcane damage debuff on the person with the killing blow. Just try and kill them before they get down the stairs or they will damage the entire party.
The third fight? What can I say about the third fight (the Priestess) other than it sucks ass. Arolaide definatley nailed it above. These guys play their own game and they play it to win. In combat CC is very helpful. We spent nearly three hours on this encounter alone rotating through different strategies. The best one that worked for us had Pregor fearing everyone on his charge in while we focused DPS on the Priestess and took her down. She heals a lot so concentrated DPS is required early. After that, we continued in game CC (sheep, freeze traps, water elemental to freeze) and took them one at a time. They describe this as a PvP match. It is nearly impossible for the tank to maintain threat as their AI has them all ganging up on people. I think you will find this fight very frustrating, and the fact the mobs can change from run to run will continue to make this a challenge. But perserverance will prevail :)
The final fight with Kael was not bad at all. I think the Phoenix spawns a little faster, so we actually would get a second one consistently. We found that we should slow DPS to make sure we don't get the gravity lapse while the second phoenix spawns. We let him spawn (somewhere in the 55-60% range) then killed the second phoenix and DPSed Kael. After that, the graviry lapse starts and it is the same strategy as before. Have the tank marked with an easy to spot symbol. He should swim to the front of the room and everyone should follow. Heal up at the front of the room then follow the tank around the room avoiding the energy balls. Survive the lapse and continue DPS until he is dead.
We were in there for 5-6 hours. The bulk of the time was on the Priestess. The rest of the instance is not that bad.

Actually, I think the secret to the second boss is to take as much advantage of characters that can dump debuffs as possible.
Use pets for the first few energy balls, and then mages that can iceblock or rogues that can cloak of shadows just before he hits 20% and does his crazy AoEs.
Huzzah for rogues being useful!

Yea CC and Controling aggro seemed to be flakey when we ran through it, not sure if anyone else noticed it.

The key with Fight number 3 is you have to DPS the Priestess down fast. They put out a lot of DPS and if you can kill her, like in the first few seconds - the fight goes much smoother. All three DPS'ers need to focus on her hard and burn her down. Then, if you can get the weakest minion down the fight gets a LOT more easy to manage.
With regard to the last boss - there are only 2 things that make this hard:
1. His fire balls do 5K each. They need to be interrupted / reflected. A warrior tank makes this easy. Without that someone need to counterspell/kick/shock some of them or the tank takes too much damage.
2. You have to avoid his Flame Wave (circular AoE thing that appears on the ground). It does 30k damage.
3. You MUST interrupt his Pyroblast. It does 40K and cannot be reflected.
A warrior tank has the least to offer DPS/wise but the most to offer in interruption / damage avoidance here. A druid would do more damage and a Paladin could help heal while floating.

I had one wierd issue that kept repeating itself on the third boss fight. I had problems polymorphing on the initial pull. I have a macro I use and thought that might be the problem, but when I switched to the normal spell I still had the same issue. Essentially, the button would indicate I was in range but when I pressed polymorph it said "Out of Range" and did nothing. It took me an extra couple of seconds to move and cast again but those seconds really hurt. I ONLY saw this problem fighting the Priestess and her clan. Not sure if there is something funky about that room that was creating LOS issues or what.

I really have nothing further to add. Just want to give massive praise to everyone else in the group. Kharthis did an amazing job healing, dps was awesome, and Pregor is the most uber tank ever. It was well worth the time and the repair bills to complete it and I can't wait to go back again!
