While doing research on state consumer protection offices for a textbook I came across this website http://www.state.sd.us/attorney/office/divisions/consumer/. Check out the last link on the left menu bar. South Dakota has an official Pie Day! Doesn't make me want to live through their winters, but it looks like fun.

Oh...all of South Dakota, huh? Wow. That's...pretty big. South Dakota. I mean, wow, that's...there are probably a lot of people in South Dakota. I'm sure that's really put us cake eaters in our place, huh. Wow.

I mean, it's not like we have an entire national cake holiday or anything. It'd be even worse if we had an an international one, too.

Or, like, a whole list of special nationally recognized cake days, like...

February 3 National Carrot Cake Day
February 27 National Chocolate Cake Day
March 4 National Poundcake Day
March 6 National White Chocolate Cheesecake Day
March 28 National Black Forest Cake Day
March 29 National Lemon Chiffon Cake Day
April 7 National Coffee Cake Day
April 20 National Pineapple Upside-down Cake Day
April 23 National Cherry Cheesecake Day
May 19 National Devil's Food Cake Day
May 26 National Blueberry Cheesecake Day
June 1 National Hazelnut Cake Day
June 6 National Applesauce Cake Day
June 11 National German Chocolate Cake Day
June 14 National Strawberry Shortcake Day
July 30 National Cheesecake Day
July 31 National Raspberry Cake Day
August 23 National Spongecake Day
October 10 National Angel Food Cake Day
October 18 National Chocolate Cupcake Day
November 10 National Vanilla Cupcake Day
December 15 National Lemon Cupcake Day
December 27 National Fruitcake Day

Poor Cake people resorting to logic and facts just goes to show how weak your arguements really are!

Viva Pie!

South Dakota is actually behind the times. They haven't yet come up to speed with the rest of the world (I'll send them another copy of the memo). EVERY DAY IS PIE DAY. So have your silly handful of days a year on which poor souls must suffer through cake. The enlightened will be eating out pie.

As a reminder: you can't have your cake and eat it too. There is no such limitation on pie. You CAN have your pie and eat it too.

You know, that saying always confused me. I mean, why the hell would I want cake if I can't eat it???? Just to look at it? If I can't eat it then you can just keep it, dammit.

It makes no sense and REALLY BUGS ME.

I think it's the plastic cake they show you at Red Lobster. You can't eat that.

Heh, I wouldn't even eat the food there, much less the cake!

I am detecting a significant amount of surliness emanating from within the pie eating savages.

Might I inform all of you that the complete and utter humiliation each and every pie-eating, rotted tooth smiling, inbred banjo playing, Dunwich living, bad hygiene smelling, no shoe wearing, Pabst Blue Ribbon drinking person that worships some rotted fruit with soggy dough wrapped around it suffered?

I may have confused some of our lesser pie-eating brethren; so I will put it in

pie-vernacular...yawl dun lawst.

That was just one battle. And it was rigged to increase the chances for the cake side. We shall win the war.

So as to "Having your cake and eating it too..." you can in fact have your cake and eat it too. There is absolutely no reason why you can't have your cake and eat it too.

What you can't do is eat your cake and have it too... I don't know why this statement got coined that way, its ridicoolus... I mean seriously, isn't it a prerequisite to have your cake before you eat it?

The enlightened will be eating out pie.

Even as a true cake eater, I cannot argue with this, and I bow to your wisdom, sir.

(Dude, in a guild like this, how am I the only one who noticed this?)

Hi, I'm here for my pie-eating-out.

*rimshot*

That's right folks... Lux is here ALL WEEK! Shows are at 6pm, 8pm, and 10:30pm. No kiddies at the 10:30 show though... it's gets a little blue.

Be sure to tip your waitresses, they're working hard. And try the veal...

/ PIE FTW
