Check out the last link on the left menu bar. South Dakota has an official Pie Day! Doesn't make me want to live through their winters, but it looks like fun.

South Dakota is actually behind the times. They haven't yet come up to speed with the rest of the world (I'll send them another copy of the memo). EVERY DAY IS PIE DAY. So have your silly handful of days a year on which poor souls must suffer through cake. The enlightened will be eating out pie.

So as to "Having your cake and eating it too..." you can in fact have your cake and eat it too. There is absolutely no reason why you can't have your cake and eat it too.
