I want to get a GPS...
Anyone purchase a GPS lately? Which one did you get or which one are you thinking of getting? Any good review sites for GPSs?
The Garmin nüvi 660 seems good.

You cant go wrong with a garmin. I have had one for 3 years and it is rock solid! Easy to use, reliable, and just simply works.
I know the Nuvi series is really sweet! my buddy has one and loves it too.

Having had experience with several of these I'll tell you what I think...
I currently use one of three different Garmin Models at work. I have the iGuidence iNav software installed on my Windows Mobile phone. My mom has a TomTom that I have used. And I have piddled around with the Magellan a bit.
There are two things that I feel are the most important consideration when buying one of these, both of which the Garmin don't have.
1. A constant on-screen indicator that tells you what direction you will be turning next. If you have to rely on the voice cues then you may find yourself stuck in the left lane when you need to take a right in a half mile and you just can't get over in time.
2. Lots of notice on the voice cue reminder. The Garmin gives you a half mile when traveling at 70mph on the highway, thats just not enough, I like iNav software and a couple of the others that give you a 2 mile warning and then a closer warning, that way I don't mess myself up.
Overall, the Garmins at work do their job well, but I wouldn't buy one. My mom's TomTom doesn't have the turn minder, but the ones I see on Amazon seem to so I don't know whats up with that. The Magellan that I was using did have a turn minder, but the ones on Amazon don't show it...
Bottom line, go down to Office Depot/Best Buy/Circuit City or something and put hands on one. Use the test interface to see if you can figure out which one of these will fit your driving needs the best.
