Read the details on it here:
http://www.wowinsider.com/2008/04/23/patch-2-4-2-notes-released/

Nothing major, but cooldowns have been reduced on a lot of professions. Most notably? NO COOLDOWN ON VOID SHATTER.

All 23-hour profession cooldowns are now 20-hour cooldowns.
All 4-day cooldowns are now 3 days, 20 hours.

This is kinda cool. If I do a transmute late one night, I don't have to wait until late the next night to do the next one.

But this sucks:

If you are sheeped / polymorphed by a mob, you will no longer gain back health (ie: the mass sheep in Aran, which regens your health before he fire blasts the raid). This is a potentially large change.

"Most main-handed weapons are now one-handed weapons."

I wonder what they mean by "most"....

Dual wielders may have some fun with this.

Yeah, saw that one, but it's been a while since I've seen Aran alive long enough to do the polymorph so I don't think it'll impact VS much. Now, guilds that aren't as far in Kara may be troubled by this. Who knows, maybe this change won't make it to release.

Mounts enchants
According to the spells available in the game files, most of the trinkets used to boost your mount's speed have been changed to ... enchantments !

48401 : Carrot on a Stick
Permanently enchant a mount to increase its mounted speed by 3%. You may only enchant mounts in your own inventory, and enchanting your mount will cause it to become soulbound. Single use.

Also, it looks like the Carrot on a Stick is now craftable, you will need Simple Woodx1, Fine Threadx1, and Golden Sansamx1

48403 : Crow Speed
Increases speed in Flight Form and Swift Flight Form by 10%.

48555 : Skybreaker Whip
Permanently enchant a mount to increase its mounted speed by 10%. You may only enchant mounts in your own inventory, and enchanting your mount will cause it to become soulbound. Single use.

48557 : Riding Crop

Permanently enchant a mount to increase its mounted speed by 10%. You may only enchant mounts in your own inventory, and enchanting your mount will cause it to become soulbound. Single use.

I'm not sure how the druid flight form trinket is gonna become an enchant...

So there is a plus and minus to this, I guess.

On the upside, you don't have to worry about using outfitter to reset your gear when you mount... (which is really a very small consolation)

On the downside, you need to have a new riding crop for each of your mounts... (which can get very expensive, you need at least one for your riding and one for your flying mount).

I think I'd take outfitter, or maybe just have the crop work if its in your inventory...

Maybe Blizz will reduce the mats required to make the riding crop... making this not such an issue. Or they'll keep it the same and tell you to lrn2farm more.

I agree though... it's not that hard to use Outfitter. Well... I use ClosetGnome personally... but either way.

I have my doubts that these are real changes.

You can only get one carrot on a stick how do you enchant your level 60 mount when you can't use a riding crop until 69 and you used your first carrot on your level 40 mount? (didn't see the craftable part... disregard this point)

They claim that the charm of swift flight will decrease the mana needed to shift. That would mean that it would have to be equipped before you shift. Outfitter and other addons would only equip it after. You could make a macro to equip it first but then you wouldn't be able to put it in the druid bar where the default shifting buttons are.

I call hoax.

I guess there's a reason that there's a hojillion daily quests; you've got to do something with that gold other than buy titles from the SSO.

Personally I'm looking forward to seeing those smug bastards with like nine thousand different mounts having to enchant each and every one. It's the little things that please me.

Yea this will bite. I have only been in 1 group in all of my runs in Kara the burned him down before he go his sheep off.

Me too, DD, but at the same time in most of the groups I've been in we've been using the sheep as a strategic point to get some health back. I think if we race to kill him rather than racing to make him run out of mana we may have a differing result.

Saturday night we killed him before he had a chance to sheep us. It was pretty cool and the fight didn't take as long. I guess this is another thing just like Prince that they wanted to fight to be done the correct way and not an "easier" way.

WowInsider link about mount enchants...

Because instead of getting one mount trinket and using it for all your mounts, you'd have to get one enchant per mount that you have. Good news for Leatherworkers if the change goes through, not so good for people who like to use a lot of mounts.
Which may be why Blizzard may have decided against the change at all -- according to Eliah, this change isn't actually implemented on the PTRs yet. So mount enchants are only in the code for now, and not actually available in the game. But it does show that the folks at Blizzard are actively trying to come with ways to help us handle trinket management, and that's definitely appreciated.
