Now that Trianna is 70, I have my eyes on what to level next. I'm not going to take leveling anything else seriously for a while...Trianna still needs an epic mount, more time in 10 and 25 mans, 375 leatherworking, and rep grinds. I considered leveling my warlock next...but I've been there done that. Sometimes I miss playing a lock, sometimes not. I think I've decided that I want to level a healer next...but I can't decide between a treedruid and a holy pally. I've read up on all the unique abilities of both, but I'd like some opinions on the advantages and limitations of each type from people who've actually played them. On paper does not necessarily translate to in practice.
I know I can make Trianna resto if I really want to, but I don't. I've gotten used to playing her as enhance...and I don't want to do healing *right now*. I want to do it *next*. And yes, priests are the textbook "healer" class, and I'm not counting them out...but a druid or a pally holds more interest for me.
I will now gratefully accept opinions, ideas, suggestions, and pies on this matter.

Best advice pick whatever class is more fun to play. You will be spending more time than anyone else with your character, it's a long grind to L70 and even after that you spend a lot of alone time with your toon.
Pick a race you like the look and feel of
Pick a class that you find interesting
From your Sig I see you already have a Warlock so if you pick a priest you have Holy for heals and if you want to experiment with off specs the main one is Shadow which is not the same as a lock but has similarities.
If you are looking for more options down the road
Druid provides you with Healer, Tank, Meele DPS, Spell DPS all very different fun options.
Pallies get Healer, Tank, Meele dps.
Some options to consider when you look down the road, but more important with is my first piece of advise, if you don't fall in love with it when you look at it and play it, it's gonna be hard to play.

I have to agree with DD.
For instance, I have tried to play a pally several times, but by level 10 or 15 I get so bored with him that I just can't stand it any longer.
I started a druid and thought that was interesting, but I always wondered how Blizzard came up with a healing class with no regular rez ability.
I enjoyed playing 'Reker, all the way from 1-70 and continue to enjoy her, but I know lots of folks who can't stand playing a priest because "its boring being a healer and everyone complains about a shadow priest in a group."
That said, my advice: start one of each, play them each until about 1-15 and stick with your favorite... (likely once you come to one you enjoy you'll stop trying others).
*Also: you may want to hold off if you plan on leveling a death knight... but thats an entirely different ball of wax.

Druid (maybe not resto) has the unique ability to be OK filling any role with just a switch of gear. The downside of that is, carrying 3 sets of gear around. This of course is just 5man stuff, in a pinch, and it will be a hell of a ride but it can be done.
I haven't played many of the higher healing pallies or druids, but from what I gather it's this - do you want to heal a bunch with one-two spells or do potentially more with 5-6 spells?
Shaman healers are totally different than everyone else. I have the mentality of "I don't care if you only need 2k HP. You will be healed for 9K, it will take me 3 seconds and you will LIKE IT."
Suppose that is why I don't get praised for my mad healing skillz, though.

Thanks for all the advice. I am sad no one sent a pie, though. :(
I've been playing with some lowbies this weekend. And so far I like my gnome mage best. Maybe I'm just meant to destroy and not heal. :P
