On the subject of raids:

If you search through our forums you'll find a great many threads addressing our struggle to continue serving everyone in the guild as best we can with our raiding schedule.

Rest assured that there are dozens upon dozens more of these threads addressing the same topic in the Officer Forums. Usually in these public address posts I recap ad nauseum but I'm just gonna skip that this time and just skip right to the nitty gritty.

Karazhan

We own this bitch. We own it so badly that we can walk through it in less than three hours and pick up our 22 badge of justice each if everyone is on top of their game (And the rogue doesn't get drunk and stupid and cause wipes). Because so many people in the guild are progressive minded and gung ho about beefing up their toons, we can usually pull several people through who aren't necessarily top performers.... And we will continue to do so. We're making every effort to get anyone that's ready in there as often as they can.

That being said, it is still an endgame raid. Please, please don't ask to come with your brand new 70 healer that successfully healed their first 5 man Outland run last week. If you want to come (and we want you to come) then make sure you're on the right track towards contributing your share to the run. Do the right quests to get drops. Do the instances for drops and for practice. Know your class enough to know why you made the talent choices you did... enchant your shit... yada yada.

Please don't expect to come to Kara and just get free upgrades without contributing at all to the run. It just isn't fair to everyone else.

But.... ya.... when you are ready to come you're gonna get a tonne of epics really fast :)

25 Man Raids

I have been and will continue to ask people what their preference is for character and spec for our Gruul and Mag runs. Because there is a title involved for those people that have done the very long quest line I have no problem with making every effort to get the person you need in for either of those fights. I also have no problem with people filling in different roles since so many of us are adept at several different jobs. And if there is a specific drop you're hoping for for someone I will make an effort to get that toon in when possible.

I did want to mention one thing though. I stopped keeping track of the loot for our 25 man runs when we changed the loot rule to "Don't be Greedy" but I just want to put something in perspective for you guys. I have one upgrade from our 25 man runs so far. That's one upgrade period between my characters and I have been on every run. Please don't ask to bring in a different character because your main has all 4 drops that he needs and you're ready to work on the next one. Sound fair? Awesome!

Now... In terms of the second half of our raids we are working on new encounters and new bosses. I won't be honoring requests to bring alts for SSC or The Eye unless it is to fill a class gap that we have. We don't have many chances to get 25 of us together so I don't think its unreasonable for us to ask you to bring the most you can to the table. Which brings me to....

Zul'Aman

Yes, we can clear Zul'Aman. No, we can't kill The Hex Lord and Zul'jin without 10 of our firmest and finest. We will continue to mix up the one-day-clears and the two-day-clears but this place is not easy so think of the rest of the group when you sign up your alts. In actual fact ZA is the most progressed our guild will most likely be before the expansion hits. SSC and The Eye are cake compared to it (or pie if you prefer) so if your character isn't decked out in almost every upgrade we as a guild have access to, you aren't ready for a one night clear. Our guild will continue to pride ourselves on helping those that want help and letting people who want to play casually play. But this means that we will have to be more selective on our one night clears or they just won't work. In these lower level 25 man instances we can make it through with only half of the group being truly progressive raiders but that doesn't cut it in ZA which is a late T5 instance.

I don't want people to stop signing up for ZA, I would just like to ask that people be realistic in their requests. If you haven't been a main tank for an entire Kara run, then you are not ready for off tanking ZA. I hope I'm not being too blunt but I know you guys have wiped in there just as much as I have so lets be considerate.

And we have not yet beat the third timer. If we don't get a bear mount for at least one of us before the expansion hits and they disappear I'm gonna be very disappointed for all of us! OK....? Go get em!

Future ZA plans:

What we're going to try to do is plan two back to back one night clears when the reset occurs between them. This will allow us to take more people that want to go as we can spread out the more casual people between the two nights. It will most likely also have the effect of some people going more often than others, but we'll see how it goes. Also, once in a while we will do a "who cares how much we progress on this run" ZA raid, but for the ones where we are trying to progress, we are going to be a little strict with our requirements.

I've been in this guild for a very long time. I was quite content to sit on the sidelines for years and just enjoy the ride but every once in a while someone needs to stand up and lead the 25 casually strolling people towards the restaurant so we can all eat.

Even though my intention with posts like this is not to be overbearing I am well aware that it can be interpreted that way. I just really, really care about this guild and because I know about all the discussions that the officers have with all the individual members I'm aware of the majority of the issues that make guildies unhappy.

I don't want people to feel strong armed into speccing a certain way or playing a certain way if they don't want to.

I don't want adept raiders that don't like raiding guilds to feel that we don't cater to their needs.

I don't want to see my friends not enjoying their favourite hobby.

If you have concerns I urge you to let us know about it. And that includes about posts like these. If you disagree and want to start a dialogue I'd love to hear from you in PMs or ingame.

That is how I should have ended the last post :)
