Is anyone else NOT excited by this new hero class? I always thought it was silly to just release the one. I'm afraid that WoW As We Know It is going to grind to a screeching halt and become Death Knight the MMORPG for a few months. I also don't want to be playing the same toon as EVERYONE ELSE IN THE GAME.

Amid all the hooplah and hoorays, I just thought I'd share my meh.

Meh.

New content > new class.

I'll be trying a death knight out eventually, I'm sure, but I'd much rather explore an entirely new area than worry about leveling up 15 levels first.

I am pretty sure my opinion here is well documented.

Just in case it isn't, I find death knights the overpowered Gary Stu fantasy of ten thousand furiously wanking teenage boys who ate a bunch of pixie stix, stayed up all night watching Dragon Ball Z, then created a character class.

Also they smell of beets.

Having seen briefly what the play style of the death knight is about, I'm not too worried about it.

Sure there will be a ton around at first but it will die out just as quickly as the synchronizing of classes between horde and alliance did.

I'm with Fren in wanting to see the new changes, not so much content as it probably won't be a whole lot honestly. The dynamics and tweaks to existing classes seem awesome though.

I had a lot of interest in playing the Death Knight because it was being touted as one of the more complex classes to play - something that appeals to me very much. However, I prefer to focus on Khros and Pregor to get 80 and crack the new instances instead.

My opinion is "yay! Less people to fight over mobs with while I level to 80!"

Meeeeh.. If I don't ditch WoW again after yet another ridiculous expansion, I think that I'll just stick to the mage love and see what new toys the new territory brings.

Dartol's Rod of transformation is great and all, but I lost a lot of fun stuff when I ditched the last time, and I'm getting a little anxious for new shinies to explore.

Y'all have fun with the new level grind though, and call me if you need me. ^^;

From what I've been reading... and from the reviews of people in the beta, everyone has been saying that the Death Knight starting experience is unbelievable. Most people are saying that even if you have no intention of playing one to endgame you have to try the first few levels and quests.

Without spoiling anything.... there are some pretty cool sounding tricks that aren't anywhere else in the game right now.

I will create one named "Ngmrluvnite"; she will wear a pink dress and dual-wield flowers.

I am definitely excited for new content, and all the new class tweaks seem cool. But I just fail to understand the logic in releasing a single class that is apparently much more capable than the other classes.

Also from a lore perspective, the idea of playing a death knight doesn't seem very appealing to me. (I <3 Ing's post). I'm sure its a really cool story, but is there a way they could have introduced that without me being forced to play another toon?

All that being said, I'll probably eventually level one just to see what its like. I don't want to cut myself off from a huge segment of new content just on principle, but still. I think blizzard is a little bit off on this one.

I'm stoked about the expansion (content content content!!!) but I'll be playing my hunter thank you

Like many have said I have every intention of toying with a death knight but it’s likely I’ll do little more than that… we’ll see

Also I think it's a misconception that the "hero class" toons will be more powerful... different but not really over powered. I think the concept is more related to the fact you have to reach a "hero" level to even play one and the reason for that is it will take more skill and experience to play one effectively…

Also I’m sure the introduction of other hero classes will come relatively soon after the expansion too

that's my 2¢

Well, I'm interested in the DK class but I'm more interesting in getting my primary character up to 70 and then to 80.

I may have to try out a DK in the mix but I'm guessing we'll have tuns of little DKs running all over the place.

The Death Knight may be cool, but I think I am also more interested in Content.

I would have like to see them come up with two new classes. I still would like to see a bard or a monk or something...

Also, I would have liked to see playable goblins and merlocks... but hey, I guess we can't have everything we want...
