Boards › Forum › VS Raiding Calendar
Starting next week, we'll be trying out a new calendar for scheduling our raids. All regular 5-man instances and VS guild events will still be scheduled the same ol' way. The new calendar is exclusively for 10 and 25-man raids.
With the new calendar, there will not be forum threads created to comment on when new events are scheduled. Instead, there will be a single comment section in the new calendar that can be updated with your availability/whatever.
For those that don't check the calendar (soon to be calendars) daily, the Raid Leaders scheduling the raids will post to this thread to give everyone a heads up when a new raid is scheduled.
The new calendar can be found here. You can get to it by clicking "calendar" in our nav menu and then clicking Calendars: "VS Raids".
Sample Raid Entry.
As you can see, the new calendar pulls character info. In order for this to work and for you to be able to sign up for raids, you have to update your UserCP on the site with your character information. Click here and scroll down to "World of Warcraft Characters" to update your profile.
If you have any questions, just holler.
p.s. -- The armory info is only pulled once an hour so it takes time for your stats and stuff to load into the calendar. You'll see the little swirly animation until the info is pulled.

It seems to be hanging up importing data from the Armory (and the Armory is currently up).

It took about 10 minutes for it to get mine too. I think its just slow.

My only concern with this is I read the VS forums by clicking the 'new posts' link. Hopefully raid leaders will post a thread when they've put a new raid in the 25man calendar.

Ya that's the concern.
As Killian mentioned, the in game calander coming in 3.0 will most likely change how we schedule raids but for now we're hoping we can retrain people to look in the raiding calander for events.

I used to browse the forums by going to the calendar first, then clicking "New Posts" (thus, the Lyranne Button on the calendars page). Then I changed my bookmark. Now I will go back to the old way!
And maybe sign up for some actual raids after I move!

To confusing :(
I click Add characters to your profile to singup for this event, then my profile is already updates so I click save changes. Then it takes me to Victorious Secret Forums, User Control Panel and shows New Subscribed Threads: (5)
How do I sign up for the raid??
edit: Also it just keeps saying "Amonsul Awaiting Armory data import..."
I vote for old aka original system :)

I did read it all. I know it takes a while to update but I don't even show up. It shows Amonsul as still updating.
"It shows Amonsul as still updating." -- read my first post again. :p
Fixed. It didn't like something about the way you had your characters entered... perhaps the lower case e in Eitrigg... didn't test it. Oh, and you need to change your password now.

How do I sign up for the raid??
You click "here" in the post where it says "Sign up here."

The system just stopped using wasn't the one we used when I joined. When I joined, there was a thread where they announced the raid, and you clicked "here" to sign up. So, if that was the original way, this new way is more like that one than the one we were using most recently.
Except I think the posting of the post part is temporary.
The guild I was in before I moved to Eitrigg many years ago used a system much like this when it started getting into ZG and AQ20 and it made it much, much, much easier for the RLs to figure out what was needed vs. what they had for the raid.
I'm slightly confused on the times. I'm seeing the message "this event ignores DST" on the raids. Does that mean that if the raid is posted for 3:00pm it's really 4:00pm server time? Or am I reading too much into it?
Good catch Trianna. I'm not sure why the new calendar displays that info and the old calendar does not. They're both using "Allow DST correct (maintain same time throughout the year)". Put simply, the new calendar works the same as the old -- no need to worry about it.
I've removed that comment from the new calendar to avoid confusion.

Thanks you for your help. I didn't even think of that. Wonder why it was case sensitive.
Had no clue why I couldn't log back in. I locked my 5 of 5 out, lol. oops. Back in as before.
Thanks again.

I'm getting the same issue signed up yesterday and am getting " Awaiting Armory data import..." still. Verified my info in User CP and seems fine.
Yeah, it sometimes bugs if you don't have all of the secondary skills trained. I'll try and get it fixed ...or I can send you the copper to go train them. =)
