Lousy weather curtailed our ambitions, but I'll be back for my revenge. I could see Canada from one of the peaks and, by virtue of being 6 miles from Lake Placid and in direct line of sight, even got a cell phone signal. In camp tonight, back at my parents' cottage on Chautauqua tomorrow, and then home (for my last week of freedom) on Sunday.

Climbing Big Slide on the one good weather day.
What a payoff with this view of the Great Range

Same mountains from the next peak over: Yard Mt. Center stage is Gothics, the peak that combined forces with 50mph winds and driving rains to defeat us 200' from the summit on the first day. One ugly mountain.

On the way out taking Klondike notch- one tired trooper.

Willow Ufgood, you must take Chelindrea's wand to the sorceress Fin Raziel!
Bren got hairy in the mountains! The movies never lie...
Great pics! I love mountains.

Great pics. Looks awesome! (I was referring mainly to the mountains rather than the hairy Bren this time, Amanda BTW)

I shaved yesterday. Hadn't since Toronto. That's the most facial hair I've had in 5 years. I guess it didn't look too bad, but it got itchy. I dunno if I could get used to a beard.

It takes a little bit of getting used to at first, but not shaving everyday = win.
