This is probably old news to most; but I tested today that you can click off the Brewfest Ram, once you have made the rounds in Ironforge, and use your own mount to get back to do the turn in.

I believe I heard that there were apple barrels somewhere in IF but I haven't found them yet. I've been running through the barking quest at green/yellow speed and then hopping on my own mount after I get the four done.

And the quest where you have to get the barrel's of booze you can do as a group you just have to stay close to each other.

my bad must not write things when sleey.... There and Back Again is the name of the quest, it is where you ride the ram and deliver booze. You get 10 tokens for completing it.
