Hi guys! I made it to the sandy hot place far, far away. I'll be chilling out near the Kuwaiti-Iraqi border for the next 11 days getting acclimatized and doing some required training before heading North.

Having been one of the main staging bases for US Forces heading into Iraq for the last 5 years now, Camp Buehring has grown into something of a behemoth. I'm crammed into a hangar
with roughly 80 other soldiers (pics below)- at least the air conditioning drowns out most of the snoring at night. Other than the crappy transient living conditions (and very crappy internet connection) life here is pretty easy: see third picture. Yes, this place has a Starbucks.

Missing VS and hoping I get better internet in Baghdad.

I've been keeping a Journal since I arrived at Ft. Riley for the mission train-up. I finally got around to getting a simple online blog set up. I hate the term 'blogger' or 'blogging' and think that it is a word that should remain in the bedroom, as in 'despite using his last condom on the clown, brendan insisted that they get to blogging in the raw', so please just think of it as my journal.
