Ouiji is a couple of levels into Outland now. She's a tailor, so I'm starting to think about her tailoring specialization. I know Shadowcloth gives the best crafted items for affliction locks...but does tailoring specialization make a difference once you hit Northrend? I know Trianna's Dragonscale Leatherworking specialization is as useful as a hole in the head now.
Also, do any other locks have the items to summon the Dreadsteed and would be willing to accompany Ouiji to get hers? I haven't started the PITA quest line yet, but I'm trying to figure out how much of a pain it will be.
And have locks changed so much since the expansion that spirit is worth something for them now? I was in a heroic the other night and the subject of lock gear came up. Someone said something to the effect that spirit is a worthwhile stat for locks now. Can someone please explain this? I was in the habit of stacking stam and int and using ye olde lifetap, +damage was my god and to hell with spirit. AM I LIVING UNDER A ROCK? DO I NEED RE-EDUMACATION?
Thanks. :D

You don't need to do the quest for the Dreadstead any more. It's trainable at 61 (http://www.wowwiki.com/Dreadsteed).
Spirit is useful, but to what extent depends greatly on your build.
As for tailoring specialization, I don't think it matters. Go whichever one you're likely to have mats for to make the pieces for leveling. Though I hear Frozen Shadowweave will last you quite a ways through Northrend.
Keep stacking stamina. Int is worthless. Due to lifetap, think of +stam as being the same as +stam and +int.
A good warlock site I read a lot (partially because she's funny as hell) is http://outofmana.blogspot.com/. It's a bit PvP centric, but she goes into a lot of detail of various builds and stats and whatnot.

I think the quest to get your tailoring spec is pretty piddling so you could get it just to get the double shadowcloth/spellcloth/mooncloth proc, but on the other hand, Frozen Shadoweave items are now BOE. You could also just hit up a tailor who leveled it up during BC to make it for you. :)

Frozen Shadoweave is a nice set. And the spec you pick in Outland does continue in Northrend. Eventually you'll be able to make Ebonweave, and if you have the Shadoweave spec, you'll make 2 pieces of Ebon with one set of mats.
Unlike TBC, the crafted gear for crafters is not OMG UBER. But there are still some nice pieces that you'll want to make at higher levels.

OHGODYES! If I weren't married to C-Rob I would so kiss you right now Beam! But I already paid cash money for an epic Mechanostrider that I could have just waited out another level to get a free epic mount. Damn. WAIT! I made C-Rob give me money from his bank toon. Nevermind. :P
Second Rule...do not wear ugly hats
But she's in Hellfire Peninsula, so she kind of has to wear an ugly hat...but I don't show it!

From the warlock trainers: http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=23161
(My warlock had to walk uphill, both ways, in hip deep ashes of her enemies to get her Dreadsteed. I can only go from what others say.)

If would did not pick tailoring what other professions would you be interested in or need? So far I am not overly impressed with the tailoring stuff in LK, at least from 380-410. I am sure the high level stuff will be good but I on my blacksmith I am finding a lot more usefull armor from the 70-78 patterns so far I am just grinding tailoring and not using anything.
I still think Tailoring is a good pick but if there is a profession your group of toons are missing there are some good alternatives as well.
Engineering has some good caster dps stuff, plus fun trinkets.
JC has idols that are nice that only a JC'er can use
Alchemy has nice BOP Trinket you can make to boost spell dps
Enchanting you can put extra spell dps enchants on each ring you have
Warlocks for stats you're looking at Stam, Spell dmg, Int, and Crit/Haste (very important to some play styles). And of course Spell Hit (should be maxed when it comes to raiding)

I'm pretty firmly into tailoring with Ouiji. She's doing the classic tailor/enchant combo.
There was something on WoW insider the other day about the problems with Affliction lorks (see Pilsner...I said lork!) doing low DPS in short fights being fixed...so I'll probably stay affliction, making +damage more important than +crit. If for some reason I decide to go Destro, crit is the shit! I can't wait to get into some raids with her. With the volley nerf I can start competing with Dondoh on the damage meters, since Tri sucks for AoE. I'll be all Seed-Tab-Seed-Tab-Seed-Tab-Seed...OMG! REZPLZ!
I'm happy to read these posts...glad I still (mostly) understand Lorks in LK. And yes Beam, I've walked up hill both ways to get a Dreadsteed too, and it sucked, so I don't feel guilty about training for it now. It was actually a pretty interesting questline despite being a total pain:P

As I remember, if you do the dreadsteed questline when you turn 60, it does a nice job of getting you through the next level. It may be a long questline, but it has some very silly and cool bits along the way, and just about every quest rewards you something like 10k XP. Outland experience for Azeroth quests. Fulmineous made it halfway to 61 just by doing those quests.
