Ever since 3.1, I've been getting various incarnations of Error 134- usually every other day or so. Once I get the error and WoW CTDs, I can't reload WoW until I run the repair utility- once it runs, I'm good to go usually for another 24-72 hours until it does it again.

Today, the repair tool gave me the added bonus of 'Your copy of WoW seems to be severly damaged..." etc., consider reinstalling. So I wiped WoW and did that. Now I'm patching, but its stuck on one of them and wont proceed. It says my current version of WoW is 3.0.8.9464. The Blizz downloader wont get me any farther, and I cant find a patch to update from that version anywhere.

Immediate help needed: how do I patch up to current version?

Other help: What was causing all the 134s?

Any ideas are appreciated.

Right click the WoW icon and go into properties can check 'Run as Administrator'. That should fix the patcher. Not sure about the errors though, I think 134 is their generic error. Hopefully the reinstal will fix it.

Have you tried having Windows run a check disk on the drive you have WoW on? It sounds like there's a filesystem screwup in there - the longer you run WoW over top of it, the more corrupted it gets as more writes go through the bad sectors.

I did the mem test and a hard drive test. Aside from needing to defrag my drive, which I did, no apparent problems.

I managed to get the re-install complete- we'll see if I keep getting errors.

I know this is no real help but ever since 3.1 my game has behaved very differently on loading, so I do suspect they made some underlying changes. I hope it's not your hard drive! :( at least RAM is easy to swap out.

I too have had many issues since the patch. Slow loading, more crashing, video glitches. Ugh.

I have been going back and forth with Bliz over my video problems since the patch. They have acknowledged introducing some problems with older video cards. Theoretically this has been addressed in the test realm, but I am too lazy to go check it and will wait for the patch.

Error 132 this time. Double-checking drivers, but wtf. Out of date add-ons causing this, maybe?

When in doubt, remove variables. Take out all your add ons and run ms config. Select selective startup and take the check out of load startup items.

That should remove any possibility of addons or a background program interfering.
