Check this out, all you have to do is register on Mountain Dew's site and log on to the Alliance vs. Horde site.

This bloody blows! I am tired of missing out on stuff simply because I am Canadian! This thing is only for legal residents of the US despite the fact that WoW is world-wide. You'd think that they could at least make something internationally available wherever Mountain Dew is sold.

So now there is one more pet that I get to enviously watch everyone else get that I don't have a hope in hell of getting. It is one thing to have rare drop pets, but only available in the US (or China like another one I have seen) is biased, I want a fucking Beaver pet that is only available to Canadian players!

OK, my rant is done, nothing to see here folks, move on...

Just fill in the info with an American address.

They don't mail the pet to you ;)

Hey Mish try living in Quebec, we never get included in any contest at all. Fucking language laws!

For those of you interested, I have an address you can use, and I will give you the code when it arrives. PM me and I will PM you my address. I need to re-read the rules to make sure it is not something stupid like one pet per household. I can still help at least one out if that is the case.

Beefy, you are so sweet, I wouldn't even know where to start trying to fudge an american address.

And Bren, I am usually sweet, but I am human too...I just can't stand that you guys get everything and everyone forgets about Canadians, but we're polite and would never complain.

I do agree though that it would be worse to live in Quebec, they really get screwed because their politicians can't get over the fact that the French lost.

The big problem with faking an American address for the purposes of doing something online is that confusing line that asks for a zip code.

But popular culture has solved that conundrum for us.... as long as you use a city you know as well as your own...

Here's how you fudge an American address:

1. Click this link:
http://gis.rileycountyks.gov/website/rileyco/viewer.htm

2. Zoom in (I'd try around the Manhattan area) until you find a "lot."

3. Click identify and click the lot.
The address information will be on the bottom of the page...
ADDRNUM is the house number
SITUSADR is the street name
PROPZIP is the zip code
It's in Kansas, and if you zoomed in the Manhattan area, your city would be Manhattan.

4. Profit.

All counties in the states have a GIS listed online. You can find all sorts of information on them...

Well that just goes to show you: stop losing wars.

On a serious note, I'm sure Blizz would love to give everone a shot at the pet, had they a way to get around internation laws, blah blah, etc etc. There's several Americans don't have access to. In fact, I think this is the first (and I could be wrong) pet that we get that Canadians can't.

Yeah this is the first pet, but I have often seen ads for contests that once you have filled out all the required forms (usually online) and jumped through a series of hoops before being able to set down an address, only to find out at the last second that ooops, I'm canadian and can't enter this contest or that one. Sorry I vented with the pet thing, I guess I went too far, I can't remember where I was on an emotional level at the time, maybe it was more of a straw that broke the camel's back kind of thing.

I would like to find someone who can tell me where the differences lie between Canadian laws and American laws that cause this issue. Maybe if I knew why the laws cause the problem between two very similar countries I would be able to accept it better. If anyone knows where to find this info pass it along, I would be glad to educate myself. I just can't seem to find it myself.

It's quite possible it's not a legal issue at all, but merely a marketing issue where they decide to limit the territory they want to be involved, possibly to control the number of people. I can't imagine any legal reason for excluding Canada, unless it's just that the sponsors know US laws wrt contests really well, and don't want to take a chance with Canadian laws that they don't know as well. But, I can't believe that big multinationals don't have all that information available, even if it's from a foreign affiliate.

Blizzard has not been too bad but just put it in the pile with the ton of stuff we here in the great white north don't have access to, contests, streaming services for music, movies etc, trial offers and product demo's.

And if you think you have it add Mish come live in Quebec and you can kiss another good part of what does come in to Canada away.

And don't get me started on prices. My fav was last summer when the Canadian dollar was strong and I was buying stuff off Amazon.com for $10 to $100 dollars cheaper than off Amazon.ca. For what little Amazon.com will let me buy and send to Canada.

FYI. These are live today. You have to log in to the Mountain Dew Gamer Fuel website (link in Hom's original post) to get your pet. Also, you have to merge you WoW account to a battle.net account. Visiting the Mountain Dew site every day gets you fuel for your battle bot. Any time your bot encounters a bot with the other color of fuel, they battle. Hence "battle bot".

FOR THE HORDE, MAN!

Every toon on every server should get one of these buggers. Darthrasta has one...which brings me much happiness.
