I got out-DPS'd by Torrin's Cornish Rex cat (rad looking BTW) last night.
Rock has been incredibly patient with me even beyond the point where I no longer can conduct verbal communication and make clicks and whistles.
Does anyone have a Blood Spec (51/0/20) DK that consistently puts out 2k dps?
I have tried multiple rotations and cannot get above 1750 it seems.
So...any idea's?

Ok Darth first thing is I am not a DK Guru but I now a bit when it comes to DPS.
your trinkets got to go, both of them, not one of them gives AP.
second you need to get your Glyphs, and enchantments on your gear.
also get the Knights of the Ebon Blade to exalted and get the head enchant that adds to your AP.
Also try visiting a site that I like to use - www.maxdps.com.
great reference site with a lot of info, on the best gear enchants for your gear and also gives a DPS Cycle. so check it out.
let me know if you need any help.

Section VI of the excellent post Euls gave gives stats weightings for gear. If you are unsure whether a particular piece of gear is an upgrade, this will give you a general assessment that can help make up your mind. From the looks of it, crit rating > attack power for death knights, so your trinkets should be fine unless you have trinkets which give you 105 AP or more. (Or 35 strength or more. Or 42 hit rating or more. etc.) There is an addon called Rawr which will let you plug in your own stats ratings and evaluate gear for you. You may want to use that to run through the gear you have and see if you don't have something else that's more appropriate for a given slot. (For instance, your current armory shows you using a one-handed tanking sword - a two-handed DPS weapon, if you have one, would probably make more sense.) And as mentioned, gems and enchants help a lot too.
Picking a particular spec will not magically push your DPS higher if your gear is not appropriate to your goal. :)

Thank you Eulalia, CC, and Frenial for your knowledgeable input.
I have bookmarked that EJ thread and hopefully in the relatively near future I will be able to put forth the DPS that will benefit a raid or group I am part of.
Update: My new kit has me at 1950 unbuffed on the heroic dummy in IF. UM...YAYE
I have now developed a meaningful relationship with the EJ website...I may never leave.

I wish to express thanks to everyone who took time out of their day to help me out, it worked.
Now I can concentrate on getting my loot rolls up to say...8 or maybe 12; but that may be asking too much.
