Good to see someone in the media is covering reality.

http://blogs.abcnews.com/theworldnewser/2009/07/update-more-details-on-karchers-attack-and-rescue.html

This one hits close to home, quite literally. LTC Karcher is a great commander and a great man. We will miss his leadership. This was two days after we lost 10 guys in a single fight- none died, but all were wounded to the extend that none will return. Including LTC Karcher's attack and the one on his Sergeant Major later the same day, we've lost two dead and 17 wounded in five days. And this is only my small unit in my little corner of Baghdad. Other US soldiers and hundreds of Iraqis have died in the last week. The news would have you believe this war is over and US troops are on their way out. This is simply not true.

You see me in WoW a lot- I have free time, but I also have a day job and its deadly serious and sucks some major ass some days. Despite the happy news on CNN, please remember that even right now we are still fighting and still dying in this city.

Send your thoughts/prayers/happy Vibes, etc. to LTC Karcher, CPT Caravallo, SFC Rives, SGT Garcia, SPC Nguyen, and all the others from here at FOB Shield who need them.

I find it hard to express how scared I get for you Bren. Can't wait to see you again.

I agree, we miss you greatly and we wish everyone out there a safe return.

I hate to hear the stories about how "soon" or "quickly" we are removing our troops when I know better. But what I hate more is hearing that someone will be missing their sons/daughters, fathers/mothers, brothers/sisters and friends.

I really do like hearing about the good we (and by we I mean you and your fellow soldiers) are doing over there, and I pray that all of this has a happy ending. That somehow the end justifies what has happened so far.

Stay in one piece, Bren. All you people out there -- all of you, not just the American ones. Stay healthy and come home soon.

Hey Bren, I know thoughts and vibes won't help you dodge bullets or shrapnel, but they're there. Thank you for the update posts, and thank you for the service to our country and it's interests. Happy 4th, stay safe.
